Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Bad move to cancel.Great show. To much crap out there watch .I am very disappointed. The few things I did watch one less now.
Well, my email comments would have slung a few choice words synonymous with MISTAKE…big, foolish mistake– but I guess that would have gotten me instantly deleted. It strikes me as so short sighted and even pedestrian that Hallmark makes this new show, Chesapeake ‘something er other’ which is simply ‘same song, different cafe’ to our much beloved Cedar Cove. We bonded with this town (what refreshing scenery–felt like a vacation every episode), bonded with the cast, their journeys, and you had our rapt attention as we awaited the upcoming season. You’ve made a mistake, and I can’t fathom that conveigning… Read more »
The show had growing pains, but picked up toward the end. Sorry to see it end.
Shame on Hallmark. I wish they would give us an explanation. Not just canceled.
I have been watching since season 1. I enjoyed the story lines and the outstanding cast. I am very disappointed the show has been cancelled. I think better advertising and a better time slot would have helped bring in viewers.
i found this series on Netflix. I enjoyed every single show. I sure hope Hallmark will do us fans a favor by having one more episode at least to let us know what happens to all these wonderful characters. I wanted nothing more than to pack up and move to this beautiful Cedar Cove. To be left hanging is so disappointing. Please reconsider.
Please give us a final episode or two the wraps up all the issues
The series was good and clean with a great and awesome cast and story line , unfortunately the ratings went down I believe because of poor advertising . We found out about the show only through word of mouth. Any way God bless you all
So unprofessional of Hallmark to leave so many storylines hanging…i am so disappointed…have been watching for it since last summer…i cannot believe that they did this the way they did…boo…hiss…tell me it’s not true…please…
I just finished season 3 on Netflix. I got online to see when season 4 will be available and found there will be no season 4. Ouch! It feels like a very bad car accident in which a lot of your friends died. Not a nice way to thank your viewers. This was a great, happy, sweet, heart-warming show. I really enjoyed it and will miss the comfortable feeling of a good ending to a good story. I am, instead, lurched into grieving. What are the steps again? Denial, anger, sadness, acceptance?? Thanks Hallmark! Remind me not to get wrapped… Read more »
I am very disappointed that Cedar Cove was cancelled with so many unanswered plots with the people. Very sad.
I was sadden to hear that Hallmark chose to canx Cedar Cove. Would like to see 2 hour movie that will give closure to all tbe unanswered questions about the characters.
Please bring back Cedar Cove!!!!
Just saw this show on netflix and wanted tosee more but no season 4. What a bummer. Shame on you Hallmark.
Very disappointed to see that there is no season 4. It takes time to devlop a love of a series and connect with the characters in it. Why would Halmark cancel a show with so many viewers??? Netflix is what people turn to now to watch TV, to avoid poor quality cable garbage. I got so invested in these characters, all to find out now that there is not only no season 4 but no closure for the characters and show I became so interested in. It makes me question further interest in ANY Hallmark series if they are going… Read more »
