Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Yes, please bring Cedar Cove back this was the only show my husband and I both loved to watch together.
really liked the show wish it would not have been canceled… sad…
I also am disappointed the series was cancelled. Too much time between the seasons is what I think did it.
No!!!!! I loved Cedar Cove!
Please bring back the 4th season. To me, cNcelling a series such as cedar cove, also hinders the writers sales of books. If e sry writer stopped writing short stories or novels before finishing, they’d go broke and it’s a slap in the face to those who admire her stories. TOO MANY GOOD wholesome shows are cancelled, and now all you see aired is sex, violence, torture, sadistic programs. The. We wonder where kids get ideas, why people think they can get away with such vicious acts. WAKE UP AMERICA! INnocent shows, such as a great life in a small town,… Read more »
I will miss Cedar Cove. If you can not bring it back as a series, how about a movie to tie up loose ends?
Please bring back Cedar Cove we loved the series.
I really enjoyed the Cedar Cove series — very disappointed that it was cancelled. I’ve been watching for ads of the new series to begin — I wish you would reconsider but have been in the corporate world long enough to know that isn’t very likely to happen. I love the Hallmark channel especially around the Christmas season. There are a few series I feel should have been cancelled before Cedar Cove. I love the “Good Witch” series also — please do not cancel that one too.
Why not make it a Netflix series! It was an enjoyable series & it ended with so many unanswered questions! I would like to see it continue
I would like to see Cedar Cove come back.
I love Cedar Cove!! Please bring it back for Season 4. Its nice to watch a heart warming show with little violence, language etc. I am so disappointed!
Cedar Cover was fantastic and should NOT have been canceled. Even my husband enjoyed it!!!
#bringbackcedarcove
Bring Cedar Cove back!!! I loved that show, have read all of the books and would lover to see the show played to the end, maybe even further!
Bring it back!! You cannot leave the viewers hanging. Forget that the viewers are down. The 1.6 million people that are watching and have watched season 3 are still interested! PLEASE BRING IT BACK FOR A 4TH SEASON. I have watched all the seasons on Netflix, it’s such a good show!!
It is so unprofessional to start a series and then just leave the viewers hanging. Puts a bad taste in my mouth in regards to the channels and networks. Gives me cause not to get caught up in any other series on these networks/channels. If they do it once….they will do it again. Many other series at least give their viewers ending closer.
