Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

So saddened you cancel this show. I am an avid watcher of all your series. Watched Chesapeake Shore. It was ok. But i was invested in all the lives of Cedar Cove.
They should not have cancelled it! Best tv series I’ve watched in ages! I can’t believe they left us all hanging like that!

This was a fun show. My wife and I enjoyed every episode. We are truly sorry to see it cancelled. Yes, we would like to see it renewed with all of the characters retrurn.

One of the best family shows there was. Such a shame and disappointment to see it cancelled. Maybe a time slot change could have made a difference. Will be hard to get into another Hallmark series for fear of the same thing. Just saw the first Chesapeake Shores. Good first show but no match for Cedar Cove, not even close! Sunday evening is not a good time slot for a new series. Most families are scrambling to get ready for Monday morning.
So sad that Cedar cove was cancelled. I kept watching for season 4. I finally decided to google when season 4 would begin. How sad to discovet I will not get an hour every werk to escape my reality and spend that time in Cedar Cove.

I love Cedar Cove…the absolute BEST series the Hallmark channel had going…I’m absolutely heartbroken. And I’m getting really sick and tired of all the new movies and don’t have time to sit for that long, no one does these days. Put your money in the series that people want to watch! And quit changing all the time slots and seasons, who the heck is making these calls? The Good witch shouldn’t have been on in April…seriously what are you thinking, Hallmark? So sorry this series has ended. I read the books (just finished one today) and will miss the show and the characters on it. What a disappointment.
I am very disappointed. We loved cedar cove and was looking forward to its return.
