Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I will truly miss cedar cove and wish they would reconsider this decision. Whether you recast the members of Cedar Cove or not, it’s not the same.
This is one of my favorite shows. Cant afford cabke with the hallmark channel, so i wait until the videos cone out for me to watch. This is a show that has a great morale story line, that makes me feel good to let my family watch.
This is a great show we are so addicted to this please ….not even am ending!!!! Come on Hallmark renew this show its great for grown ups too many young shows im 45 LOVE This PROGRAM
I’m so sad there isn’t a continuation into season 4. The show definitely ended without any closure in multiple story lines. I just discovered it on Netflix and binge watched for a week or two before competing the series and finding out the devastating news that there will be no more Cedar Cove! I wish they’d bring it back it Netflix would adopt and bring it back. Love this show, the feel, the quaint setting and the characters.
Please bring back Cedar Cove!
Please bring back season 4 as a ending! I binge watched on netflicks and loved it and was so disappointed to see season 4 was canceled.
I would love to see Cedar Cove return if not for a season then at least a TV movie to wrap up all the loose ends that were left unanswered. It was a wonderful show and cast one that someone over 20 could relate to. I was so disappointed to see it end.
Liked Cedar Cove very much and disappointed it is not continuing. Please, at least, do a final movie.
It’s a real shame that Cedar Cove was cancelled. It was a high quality show in this age of trashy, violent tv. My family and friends looked forward to the show every week and loved Andie McDowell and all the other actors. I think the problem was Hallmark showing the series in the middle of the summer when most people are traveling and taking vacations. I’m sure this affected viewership. I hope Hallmark will reconsider and view the series during a different time period. Our family is really upset the series was cancelled. We are disappointed Hallmark left viewers hanging.
No! I’ve been waiting for it to come back on and then I saw Chesapeake Shores and thought the location looked like Cedar Cove so I googled it and found this. This breaks my heart. Bring it back!
I really liked cedar cove!!!!!! And wold like for it to be continued. The least to be done for viewers is an episode with an ending. Disappointed with Hallmark for not doing that for the faithful viewers.
Please do an ending if going to cancel. Wish you would not cancel.
Please bring Cedar Cove back!!!! We were waiting for it to start up again and now I find this out. Even my husband liked watching it! Very, very disappointed!
I am so disappointed! I love this show! Bring it back!
So disappointed to finally find Cedar Cove being cancelled. It was a well-produced, well acted series you looked forward to see each week. Too bad anything of quality is abandoned so quickly!
