Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Charlene says it must be brought back
I am so upset I have been waiting for the show to come back on and just found out it has been cancelled. Love the show watched from very first episode the characters were so interesting and real life situations. I will so miss this show!!!
I am almost done season 3 on Netflicks and I am so bummed to find out there will be no season 4. This is a great refreshing show and I love the cast. Bring it back! Please!!
I also am upset about the cancellation of cedar cove. Excel!ent acting and real life story lines and like someone else commented no nude scenes or bad language. Easy on the eyes and ears. I waited all year long to watch it this summer, a perfect summer watch! Sad to see it go!
I just finished binge watching Cedar Cove and LOVED IT! I thoroughly enjoyed a refreshing plot of no violence and death! I went crazy trying to find episode 37 but found none….it’s not fair to leave us hanging like this…..we need to know how all our people are doing these days!!….please bring it back!
I found this show on Netflix and couldn’t stop watching it. I had to buy the 3rd season from Amazon instant watch. Please please please, bring back this show. I’ve been looking forward to the 4th season for so long.
Please bring back Cedar Cove, at least as a movie to wrap it up. Should have been thought out better. Great, wholesome show!
I looked foward to Cedar Cove and loved first season. Wasn’t happy when rifts started between Olivia and Jack and thought they brought in to many characters. I think it should be brought back but with better story lines and leave out the same old person that comes in and upsets good relationships. There has to be a way if keeping interest without the story lines that every show has.
I fell in love with the show after binge watching all weekend. It was a great show that didn’t have characters half-dressed or show explicit and provocative scenes. I was, hooked after watching the 2nd season. I think that Hulu or Netflix should pick it up.
Cedar Cove was my safe place! ✨
Bring back Cedar Cove!!! I bought the series from Amazon and can’t believe it was cancelled. Big mistake!
Did not know that Cedar Cove had been cancelled!! Kept wondering why it had not come back on so decided to text to see when it would return. Enjoy watching as this show was wholesome with no blood and guts like most of the shows on prime time. Was very refreshing! Wish you would bring it back. Loved the story line
Just discovered this series on Netflix. I watched the whole series and so wish it hadn’t ended…So nice to find a show that is wholesome and entertaining and didn’t need a filter for what is the normal shows today.
Bring back Cedar Cove
Hallmark Channel, I believe you owe it to your viewers to at least produce a movie, to clear up the air surrounding the characters of Cedar Cove!! Why would such a quality network leave their loyal fans “dangling” like you did? Please consider the movie or, better yet, continue this series for the 1,000,000 plus viewers who watch your programming!
My husband and I were faithful watchers of Cedar Cover and the Hallmark Network , we are very disappointed that story was ended with 3rd season finale. We were looking forward for the up coming 4th season or so we thought! That is not the best way” Hallmark” to treat your faithful supporters. The fans need “closure”! For future reference!! Thank You!
