Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I agree with everyone else! I loved the show and it was great having something nice to watch in the summer! Very angry at Hallmark for not at least doing a quick ending, ratings were good enough for that and you’re Hallmark patrons deserved it! At least do a 2 part movie or something!
there needs to be an ending was waiting for the new season iloved the series and the beautiful scenery i amsoooooo bummmmmeeeddd
I just learned that Cedar Cove has been cancelled! What a shame to let a good series stop without a finish to the story. Very disappointed in the Hallmark channel for their decision. Judging from other fans stating their disappointment also, the TV gods might just look at what people want to watch, which isn’t a bunch of reality shows. Anything wrong with a nice and enjoyable series with a good cast?
I really enjoyed Cedar Cove, and will miss it. I watched the premiere of Chesapeake Shores last Sunday, and it seemed the acting was a bit forced and not nearly as smooth as that of Cedar Cove actors. It seems Hallmark may think this is a replacement, but not sure what is so different (or in fact, worse) to make viewers like this new one better. I don’t.
There needs to be an ending! Even if it’s just one more episode. Make it happen.
Please bring Cedar Cove back, even if it’s just for an ending. So disappointed in Hallmark for this situation and also firing Christina Ferrara from the Hallnark Hime and Family Show! May have to boycott ALL THINGS HALLMARK! Please reconsider both
Please at least bring it back long enough to tie up the loose ends. I want to see what happens with all the characters but especially Olivia and Paul.
I agree with Nancy. An actual finale would have been appreciated. I LOVED the series!!!
I think you should have at least let it go for a forth season and close it out right and not leave us hangign. This was totally wrong.
I just found the series as I am new to Hallmark via Reflex. It isa wonderful series and should be continued. There are too few series with this type of decent people.
I feel that Hallmark owes us some closure in a 2 hour movie. I never missed an episode and I, too, need some closure. Please consider this.
So disappointed to hear that Cedar Cove was cancelled!! This was a great series that kept me coming back to Hallmark Channel. I couldn’t wait for Season 4. They really should consider finishing the story with one more season.
I can’t believe Cedar Cove was canceled! I loved the show and you left us with many unanswered questions. Boo to you Hallmark Channel
OH MAN I JUST FINISHED SEASON 3,,NOW WON’T FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED BUMMER
Invested time in this series and to just shut it down seems at the very least inconsiderate. I really enjoyed the show and all the stars as well as the parts that they played. Please reconsider and bring the show back, or at least provide some closure. Thank you
Cedar Cove was a really good show. I enjoyed watching on Saturday nights. It would be nice to see a final episode. I hope that Chesapeake Shores will not be canceled.
