Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Yes I believe there should’ve been a season four! That’s rotten that they wouldn’t leave all those relationships and things hanging! They should’ve had a season for to it least finish up everything that was going on on the program. I’m highly disappointed in Hallmark and it makes me not want anymore of their stories!!!!
I am really disappointed in Hallmark for cancelling this series. It was a warm family oriented with real problems that showed the people making the efforts to work out their problems in this world.
I was so disappointed. I really looked forward to season 4 and so on….. Please bring it back.
I loved cedar cove and watched it faithfully for all 3 seasons. Please, please consider doing a 2 hour movie to bring closure to the show. Thanks for your consideration.
Really sad to see the show wasn’t renewed. Watched it faithfully. Please bring it back.
love cedar cove please continue this show,,we need more shows like that ,,,very interested to find out what happends to all characters ,,please
My wife and I enjoyed Cedar Cove. Very disappointed that a good series like this is done. Not many good things on TV like this!!
We are so sad that Cedar Cove is not returning!! We looked forward to it starting back up. Would really like to see it return!
I agree. At least another episode to wrap things up. I enjoyed this series and hate to have it cancelled. I’m afraid to begin watching another series on Hallmark because the ones I liked have been cancelled. Signed, Sealed, Delivered was one I really liked. At least that one has a movie based with the same characters on periodically.
a very sorry show . mcdowell is one bad actress !
Please bring back this show. They isnt very much on tv now days where you can sit down and watch a good show with good stories
My wife and I both enjoyed watching Cedar Cove together. Would love to see a season 4 or more.
As a regular Hallmark fan, I believe it would please your audiences to see an ending or wrapup to stories revolving around a weekly series such as Cedar Cove. This pertains to any future series for any cancelled shows. Closure is far better than leaving viewers hanging.in mid air. Just a thought. Love your movies!!!

My wife &l are very disappointed to read Cedar Cove was canceled. We both were looking for to see season 4. Hopefully it wIll return in the very near future.
It sure would have been nice to have finished out the Season 3 and even have Season 4, Each character had it’s own unique story and to have it end so abruptly was frustrating and heart breaking My husband even watched it with me and we we were both disappointed with the abrupt cancellation. We went through this with Where the Heart Goes, but at least we were able to follow up and find out what happened to characters. I won’t be all that anxious for other Hallmark series if we don’t know if there will be closure to the… Read more »
