Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Just started watching this show on Netflix and am on the third season. Sad to learn there is no season 4.
I am saddened by this choice. I’m ability limited ( disabled ). The characters on my screen are my friends who visit me often.
Unlike real life. Where friends are active and busy and the occasional phone conversation solicited by me usually, are far and few in between.
I will miss Cedar Cove. It’s a place I’d wish were real.
I love small towns.I grew up in one. Now it has out grown me.
Bust wishes to the crew, cast, and writers.
You will be missed.
I am disappointed Hallmark has cancelled any plans for a 4th season of Cedar Cove, especially since Season 3 ended without really ending. My husband loathes nearly every Hallmark movie for this reason. He says they are written by people who never learned how to write good conclusions. That’s how I felt about the last episode of Cedar Cove’s season three. It was like stopping in the middle of a book. So many unresolved issues. Please consider bringing the show back – even for a short season – and giving your audience a good ending to a sweet story.
It’s not right to get viewers hooked on a show without taking it through to a conclusion…I agree a 2 hour movie to tie up loose ends would be a good solution!!
Am so sorry to this Cedar Cove has been cancelled. I watched it from the beginning and was so looking forward to season 4.
Yes i love that show and i would very much love for you guys to bring cedar cove back on please!
Yes, I am very disappointed that this series was cancelled.
I am a guy and I reaaly liked watching cedar cove. I miss it much. Please bring it back.
With all the trash on tv, I am so disappointed that Cedar Cove was canceled. The show was a breath of fresh air and I really enjoyed the characters. Please reconsider your decision.
I am disappointed in Cedar Cove Cancelling. It was a GREAT series and it was getting really good! My husband even watched it with me. We loved the show! Please consider bringing it back!!!
I loved Cedar Cove so much!!!! A great “feel good” show. Clean content. Gorgeous scenery. It always made me want to be there. Very disappointed that a show like this gets cancelled when there is so much “junk” on TV. I miss Cedar Cove!!!!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I are so disappointed that Hallmark has cancelled our favorite Cedar Cove! We just found out today. It was a wonderful series…great acting, good storyline and the scenery was beautiful. We think the series was not advertised enough and wished there were more episodes. Hallmark please rethink your decision……BRING BACK CEDAR COVE!!!! Yes…we need more shows like this one!
I have watched every episode. This is very disappointing.
I am very disappointed that the series was cancelled – I think when a show is cancelled, there should a wrap up episode to finalize everything. There are so few shows on TV that are just good family viewing. Please make a final episode.. I watch the Hallmark channel every day, but I think it’s unfair to your audience to just leave us hanging!!!!!
Fans deserve a conclusion show or I will think twice before starting another Series with Hallmark
