Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I am very disappointed that Hallmark won’t, at the very least, produce a satisfying conclusion for the viewers who have remained faithful to the show for 3 seasons. Why could a 2-hour movie not be offered to tie-up the loose and unanswered storylines. Not fair, Hallmark…not fair at all.
Loved the series. Hope it comes back.
I enjoy seeing the actors in other series and movies however..
I Miss theveryone Cedar Cove series .. any hope for its return ..
such a good series!!!!! bring it back! There aren’t enough shows that are wholesome to watch as a family
I think the show should have a fourth season to answer all the unanswered questions? Or maybe a 1-2 hour special to answer and finish the show appropriately! It was excellent! Just too many questions left unfinished!!!
I want closure! I loved all the characters and storyline! I feel jipped!
So unhappy to be left hanging after watching this wonderful series. Please, someone sponsor a new season!!!
I think cedar cove should continue for another season. I see the twist with having Paul asking Olivia if she has feelings for him. Perhaps making this more intriguing instead of the obvious will bring more viewers to watch the show.
Oh my I can’t believe Cedar Cove has been canceled I loved that show please please get it back why oh why do they take to good shows off and leave on the crappy ones why hallmark did you cancel get it back
I would love cedar cove to return. I agree Netflix should do it if Hallmark can’t. We need to see what happened. I binge watched it on Netflix and really loved it!
I have enjoyed this show immensely!! I love the cast and story!! So very sorry you have cancelled it!! I’m sad I can’t look forward to another episode!!!!
You left us completely hanging. Shame on you. Bring it back, bring it back, bring it back.
Please at least wrap up Cedar Cove! Too many unanswered questions! I do love Chesapeake Shores❤️
Very disappointed ! We need another season to wrap up the storyline. Netflix should do it.
I actually just started watching Cedar Cove last year and instantly became a fan. I wished I had started watching it earlier and was looking forward to the next season and was so disappointed it was canceled. It had a great mix of story lines that tied together well. It also had a good balance of drama, humor, and great actors / characters you could connect with. This was such a refreshing show and great alternative to the violence, sex, foul language and crime that is increasingly taking over other prime time shows, across all channels. I hope that Hallmark… Read more »
