Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

I was so looking forward to the next season of Cedar Cove. I agree with one of the other fans who said there was too much time between each season and that may have been why the viewers decreased. Would at least like to see a final season with some closure.
I watched and liked the series. It was a little slow moving and too long between seasons. That would be the reason for the drop in ratings I would guess. Shame on Hallmark for just dropping it and not finishing it up. Could have done that better.
What a disappointment, I loved this show and followed it weekly. Thanks Hallmark for finishing the new season to answer all the questions from last season. Not likely to watch one of your new series.D
I really enjoyed watching Cedar Cove. It was a most delightful and interesting story with wonderful cast members. In 2016, I’ve been anxiously waiting for its return only to find out that it was cancelled. Please, if at all possible, can you bring it back. I know it might be difficult because so many actors are in other series now.
I would love for the show to come back. It’s a refreshing series.
it was a refreshing show, hope season will air
Yes, we would love to see the show come back. I watch this show with my three sisters-in-law; it was a great show, and a fresh breeze on the TV landscape.
I loved the show, bring it back please!
Loved the show but needs closure—BRING IT BACK!
I loved this show. Please bring it back!
I agree with the other comments. Hallmark should have had a conclusion either by continuing or by a movie. My husband was wAtching with me. Now I can’t get him to watch Chesapeake Shores because he is afraid the same thing will happen to this series. Please bring it back!
Bummer. Loved that show.
Shame on Hallnark ! We cannot get closure on this story. We are left hanging not knowing what will happen for Olivia. Will she stay with Jack or will she choose Paul ?? Please don’t leave us in misery. Please reconsider.
So nice to watch a wholesome show on TV. Hallmark, please reconsider your decision to drop the show and stay on a different path from all the other garbage that airs on other networks. Finally had a show that I looked forward to each week, and you canceled. If ratings had dropped, you should have considered a different night before cancelling. Please bring Cedar Cove back.
So disappointed Hallmark! A great show for Macomber fans canceled with no warning and no conclusion. There was still so much story to tell. MIght as well quit watching Chesapeake Shores now before the same thing happens to it.
