Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

I’m so bummed this series was cancelled!! I loved it each season & will miss it greatly. And I hate not having closure & leaving all the loose ends. Please just do one more season & answer all the questions. 😉
What a shame the show was canceled. Hopefully Netflix will save the day and make new episodes – with a larger audience they’ll show hallmark what a mistake they made.

I loved cedar cove!! So sad it was cancelled!! I liked that the main characters were not in there 20’s!! Please bring it back!! At least to let us know what happened to everyone!! Like a final movie but I would really like you to just bring it back as a series!
So sad, enjoyed watching each week and had looked forward to more.
I love this series. Its clean, the actors were amazing, the scenery breathtaking, the thought of a small town that comes together to support others gives me hope! But the whole thing was shattered when I got to that shocking ending that was like a 220 volt going through me – it ended at the worst possible timing. There were to many strings left untied. So sad to hear this news. I loved that program and now we will never know how all of the unanswered questions were resolved. I wish another network would pick it up and continue the series.
So disappointed in this decision by Hallmark! Hopefully you will revisit this decision and make your viewers happy by airing an ending to the drama.

I had never heard of this show until one day i was just curious what Netflix had. I stumbled upon Cedar Cove and decided to glimpse a few minutes just to see if it was something i liked. I have to say, i couldnt stop watching it and finished the 3 seasons in 1 week. Actually, i finished the last episode a few minutes ago and decided to browse when season 4 was up. Sad there is no ending to the series…maybe a 2 hour finale is in order. Loved the new character Paul…would have liked to see where that relationship went.
My wife and I just finished watching all three seasons of “Cedar Cove” and we are appalled you would cancel a show without some sort of final. We were “Hallmark” viewers but not anymore. Thanks for 3 seasons of entertainment with no ending.
Even if they don’t bring back the show I would LOVE to see them make the Cedar Cove Christmas themed books into movies with THAT cast!
I have to say, I am HIGHLY disappointed that cedar cove has been cancelled without some type of closure to the story. It’s one of the few decent shows on television! With all the crap on tv, it was nice to finally be able to watch something I did not have to change when my kids walked into the room. HUGE mistake on Hallmarks part….HUGE!!! I was in love with this show and all the characters. At LEAST make one last finale episode. Seriously Hallmark…rethink this.
I think it sucks that you cancelled the show. You could have at least let the show come to an end.
