Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:

I hate it when a show is cancelled and you are left hanging. It makes me not want to watch a show with a continuing story for fear of it being cancelled and we are left hanging once again!!!
I really loved the show. I hate being left hanging on how it all ends. I was looking forward to the next season. I am sad it was cancelled.

Enjoyed it. Sad to see it cancelled. Cedar Cove IS NOT a lakeside town unless they have found a way to take a ferry from a lake to Seattle.

I am terribly disappointed that you made the choice to cancel the best thing you had in your lineup of movies. You showed total disregard for the millions of loyal viewers who have supported your network from it’s inception by not bothering to do a final show and tying up all the loose ends.
This show must go on! I lived vicariously through these characters and at this place. Loved every minute!

I’m a great fan of Cedar Cove n I’m terribly upset there won’t be a season 4. Fans are left dangling not knowing the outcome of Olivia & Cedar Cove residents.
Just finished watching season three of Cedar Cove. I really enjoyed watching this show. I hate when they cancell a show that was left on a cliff hanger. They should at least do one last episode to tie it all up. I also agree with other comments it should not be all about the ratings the night of the show. Some people have a lot going on in their lives or work and can’t watch it right away. We have to catch up latter. For example my self I work 12 hour shifts go to school and have children. Nooooooooo!! I have to see Paul & Olivia together!! It’s so unfair to leave viewers hanging like that at the end of a season and then cancelling the entire show. Bring it back to Netflix!! #teampaul
