Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
That was followed up by:
While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?

Please bring it back!!!!
My wife and I loved the show and want the unanswered questions answered to put some closure to the characters.
Noooooooooooo! Just watched last episode of season 3, looked up when I could expect season 4—cancelled. This always happens when it is a good clean show that families can watch together. I hate that I even watched it now.
It’s such a shame that this series was cancelled; especially since Cliff and Grace had just tied the knot. I really liked Teryl Rothery when she was on Stargate SG-1, and I have to say the she was my favorite character on Cedar Cove. I know that Barbara Niven is now playing a role on Chesapeake Shores, but is there any way that Cedar Cove could be revived? Please?
I love the show. Bring it back. Just needed more advertising
Yes, We need more of Cedar Cove! I have even read all the books from the library.
I, too, just finished watched the last episode of Cedar Cove on Netflix. This morning I was checking to see when Season 4 would begin to find out it has been cancelled. I agree with the others that there are too many unanswered questions and we need some closure. It would be great if Netflix would consider giving all the fans another season. Thanks.
Came across this show on Netflix and thoroughly enjoyed it. Disappointed to learn season 3 was the end!
Please bring back season 4 of Cedar Cove! I care about all the characters and just have to know what became of them. Great cast and great production!
I just watched the last episode of Season 3 tonight on Netflix, and checked on line to see when Season 4 would come out. OMG! Cancelled? Netflix should take over and make it one of their series. Hallmark and Netflix customers unite! How can you leave us hanging? This is a totally wholesome series.
I too was very sorry to see here that Cedar Cove will not be coming back. You could increase your viewership by bringing it back. Why can’t you cancel many of the shows that are 30 minutes or 1 hour but on for several hours back to back. That is stupid and has encouraged me to find other viewer spots. These people who have responded here and not alone. I too enjoy a honest, and wholesome show. Love Debbie Macomber and all her works. Please play the Blossom Street stories. I do miss the ending but it was way different… Read more »
It was a great show and it is so upsetting when you don’t finalize the show. We don’t have very many wholesome show and this is a great loss for Hallmark. I hope you wI’ll return it.
Just discovered this wonderful show on Netflix. I am so disappointed to see that it has been canceled! It soothed my heart as I have been going through a rough health situation, and It was exactly what the doctor ordered to help keep my spirits up. I was so happy to have found it. It also contains strong characters of all ages, vs. the present-day trend of pandering to 20-year-olds on other networks. Please reconsider this decision, based on the wishes of a multitude of watchers who enjoy a wholesome, violence-free series that really does touch the heart.
Beautifully stated, Catrina. Our family feels exactly as you do. Hallmark, please do something.
I am so very disappointed in Hallmark cancelling Cedar Cove series. I throughly enjoyed watching this show, looked forward to it, had my daughters watching it as well.
With even more disappointment, Hallmark could have allowed the show to at least finish, give the loyal fans who stayed with the show for 3 seasons!!!
Hallmark has lost me as a fan and loyal supporter for many years. I will miss the Holiday Season of movies this year but I’ve decided to no longer support the Hallmark Channel Network!!!
I really, enjoyed this show and all of the characters blended so well together. Why is it that good family based shows such as Cedar Cove which DIDN’T promote, sex, profanity or other moralless values is quickly removed from television. 1.67 million viewers is still pretty good in my book. Why won’t these TV show producers give credence to the families and several individuals who watched and enjoyed this show, that their faithfulness to watch would cause the ratings to increase. There are so many pornographic like shows on TV now that tout themselves as “FAMILY” shows, they should be… Read more »
