Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
Why do you take shows off that are decent put it back on very enjoyable
love it , love it , and love it. Please came back
Loved this show. Wish it was on for another season!!
Please let us have a season 4 even if it is just a shortened season so that we are not left hanging with what happens with the characters. It was a great show and I loved the characters.
PLEASE create SEASON 4 of Cedar Cove! Please don’t leave us hanging! Such a wonderful and warm show. My kids would watch it with me. We need it to continue! #bringbackcedarcove
I am really disappointed there is no Season #4 of Cedar Cove. I did not see it on Hallmark but just finished the third season on Netflix. This show is refreshing and family friendly. Please don’t leave us hanging. #bringbackcedarcove
I really enjoyed watching Cedar Cove. It is so refreshing to watch a show with no shootings, and killings and violance! I enjoyed real down to earth characters wth just real everyday to day problems and issues. I absolutey hate is when networks cancel shows without bringing the story to an end!
Shame on Hallmark!!!
Very disappointed. Could at least rap up canceled series so don’t leave people hanging. I enjoyed cedar cove and will miss it.
I’m so disappointed. I really enjoyed this series on Netflix.
I’ve just watched Cedar Cove, all episodes for the second time. I feel just as unsatisfied that a 4th season wasn’t produced. I’ll admit that some of the writing wasn’t as sharp as the first season but I don’t think the statistics on viewers is the issue. I never saw the episodes on Hallmark TV, even though I had it when it first ran. Finding shows and watching them when they air was cured by pay-for-view TV. I watch most of the time on Netflix and Amazon. I love the settings of this show; the Pacific Northwest is a favorite… Read more »
Disappointed to find out there will be no season 4. It really relax me to watch this show at the end of a busy day when I need to clear my mind. I don’t even have cable I’m so busy. I have a 1 year old and I work full time. I found it in Netflix and I was looking forward to the next season. The actors, the scenery, the drama has a lot of real problems & it was nice to see how settle and calmly things get resolved. The show was just different and refreshing! The cast amazing.… Read more »
Why is it I find a show/series, get hooked on it, then it’s cancelled. I moved out of my place in the end of 2013, recalled the Cedar Cove’s debut. I never got to watch it, because I became homeless, no t.v. Now I’ve got a back on my feet, bought a house. Recalled the Cedar Cove series, watched all the episodes from the pilot since summer began this year 2017, now it’s cancelled?!Please stop already, this is a decent show, never boring and I feel I’m living in the small town amongst them. Come on people leave great alone and… Read more »
Cedar Cove should have had a season 4!!! The show is awesome.. I never saw it when it was on the TV. I’ve watched it on Netflix. It must have not been advertised or it was on at a bad time. I watched all three seasons and I think it was so sad to end it like that..
Sad to see an end to beatiful Cedar Cove and the varied cast members. My wife and I enjoyed the show and are sad to see it end.
I loved the story line, the actor’s, villains and more. I am very sad I will not be able to see the continued saga. I will read the books to find out what the forth season would have been about. Please bring the fourth season to Hallmark.
