Compared to last year’s Law & Order: SVU’s season premiere in the same timeslot, the network was down by 21% in the demo (vs a 2.4 rating) and down by 16% in viewership (vs 7.63 million). This certainly wasn’t a great start for a new series. On the positive side, almost everyone who started watching the pilot episode stuck with it until the end. That’s kinda rare these days, particularly for a 10pm show. Next week’s numbers should be very telling.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Chicago Fire TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
So, is this what we get? There is NOTHING on TV for two whole weeks during the holidays, then finally new shows after New Years………we get them for TWO weeks, then reruns again??? What could possibly be the reason? There is no Olympics or anything that conflicts with it…it is pathetic…………….and YES, who wouldn’t want Chicago Fire? A great cast and drama.
I love this show. If NBC cancels this show they don’t care what people like. It’s new refreshing.
Love Chicago fire!! Took a cpl epsoides but now I’m hooked!! Another score for dick Wolfe!!
I will be very disappointed if NBC cancels the Chicago Fire Series, it was disappointing to see a rerun last week in the slot reserved for the “All New” Chicago Fire. I watched the reruns that were run on another day.
Chicago Fire, The Voice, Americas Got Talent and Revolution are the only shows I watch on NBC, if they are canceled NBC will be history for me.
Thanks for your time.
Pete
I love this show hope it goes on for a long time and its not to be mean or anything but this is like only show I watch on NBC besides revolution. Hope it goes on for a long time.
I love this show!! I can’t stop watching it. They better not cancel it because this is the only show I watch in their channel.
We love the show and how the characters have evolved. Hope it’s on the air for years.
I absolutely love it. Sincerely hope it continues. I look forward to it each week.
love it, our family watches it every week, def needs to continue
I Love Chicago Fire! A show that actually has a plot. Best show on TV!
Its a good show!
Perhaps if NBC didnt cancel every single decent show it had after a few shows more people would bother to watch NBC shows in the first place….”life” “studio 60” etc… this is a great show so obviously it will be cancelled because NBC needs to make room for such instant classics as “im a celebrity get me out of here”.
My fiancé and I absolutely love Chicago fire. Plus my fiancé loves everything to do with firefighters, haha. But it is one of the most realist dramas I have ever seen for a television show. I look forward to every episode, and hopefully every season. 🙂
Now that I re read it. It sounds bad when I said my fiancé loves everything about firefighters haha. No he just wants to be a firefighter some day. So this show is perfect for him lol. Just an FYI.
I’m hooked to Chicago fire! My husband my 3 children and I are all hooked and look forward to Wednesday night at 10!!! Although my children are young 6,5 & 2 so they are in bed but I make sure to dvr it so they can watch it the next day!!! Please n don’t let this show go love it to much!!!!!
CHICAGO FIRE rocks!
