It seems NBC has had enough of justice in the “Windy City.” Deadline reports the Chicago Justice TV show is cancelled; there will be no season two of the legal drama series.
The latest in Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise, Chicago Justice follows the prosecutors and investigators who make up the State’s Attorney’s team. The NBC cast includes Philip Winchester, Carl Weathers, Monica Barbaro, Joelle Carter, and Jon Seda.
Chicago Justice: A Look at the Ratings
Despite the success of the Peacock network’s other Chicago series, Chicago Justice struggled in the ratings during its first season. The show, which premiered in March, has only earned an average rating of 1.13 in the 18-49 demo, averaging 6.202 million viewers over the course of its first season. While these aren’t terrible numbers, they do make Chicago Justice the lowest-rated of the Chicago series. Maybe viewers have had enough of the “Windy City,” too.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Chicago Justice? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season on NBC?
Cindy McLennan contributed to this report.
I like the show and it provided information of the legal aspects of USA. Maybe many people don’t like the reality that the show demonstrated. I would like it to have had another chance.
Why! Every time NBC always always my shows I love to watch!
Maybe the fans have such a comfort factor with the other “Chicago” characters that they went into the new series with too high expectations; like putting on a coat that really looks good, but finding it’s not feeling comfortable. I hope the series gets another chance. If they do, the leads need to come across as less intense in a formulaic way, but more engaged with the audience. Carl Weathers gets it as do Joelle and Jon. Phil needs the most work here; Monica, maybe not as much.
This show had potential. The female characters were unpleasant though, and the mains needs to be just 10% stronger to create impact. If it’s by a thread, give it a chance over some more reality stuff that we don’t need to see. It’s worth a second kick. It’s got good backbone.
I loved this show. Much better in my opinion than Fire
Please don’t cancel Chicago Justice. I thoroughly enjoy watching all the Chicago series (Chicago PD, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire )so when they added Chicago Justice. I thoughtit was great, especially when they do cross -over episodes.
Dick Wolf is a genius. Another show of
Dick Wolf I enjoy watching is Law & Order (SVU)
I am sad to see Chicago justice will be cancelled – I like this show – I think it had a good start to the seasons. I hope minds are changed!! – I loved the story lines
This show had a LOT of good potential I was definitely enjoying I say BRING IT BACK !!!
did not get into Justice, like the other Chicago shows but this one just did not grab me, and cast was bland…
With all the crap on TV you cancel a show with some of the smartest dialogue on television. Great acting, great writing, great stories and a lousy night, Sunday. Move it to a different night and give it a chance!!
WHY!!!!!! One of the best shows on television. You cancel great shows but you renew mess.
You have a great show that requires the viewer to think, to contemplate the various issues this amazing show brings to light. That’s probably why it’s been cancelled. Heaven forbid you have a show that requires the viewer to THINK!!! Please keep if for another season!!!
Great show, please don’t cancel.
This show needs a chance to find its following and slot, give it a chance. The failure is not the show, so please don’t give up so fast on the talent you have here!
Another failed series for Philip Winchester. Wish he should reunited with his Strike Back co-star Sullivan Stapleton on Blindspot which is already been renewed for a third season and moving to Fridays this Fall.
