It seems NBC has had enough of justice in the “Windy City.” Deadline reports the Chicago Justice TV show is cancelled; there will be no season two of the legal drama series.
The latest in Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise, Chicago Justice follows the prosecutors and investigators who make up the State’s Attorney’s team. The NBC cast includes Philip Winchester, Carl Weathers, Monica Barbaro, Joelle Carter, and Jon Seda.
Chicago Justice: A Look at the Ratings
Despite the success of the Peacock network’s other Chicago series, Chicago Justice struggled in the ratings during its first season. The show, which premiered in March, has only earned an average rating of 1.13 in the 18-49 demo, averaging 6.202 million viewers over the course of its first season. While these aren’t terrible numbers, they do make Chicago Justice the lowest-rated of the Chicago series. Maybe viewers have had enough of the “Windy City,” too.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Chicago Justice? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season on NBC?
Cindy McLennan contributed to this report.
I really liked Chicago Justice. It would be great if you would give it another chance. Very disappointed this is cancelled.
I really liked Chicago Justice. Why not give it another chance? Please?
I think you need to give it another chance.
I considered Chicago Justice the best, far more interesting. I regret very much it was cancelled.
I love all of the Chicago shows.. except this one. With Law&Order and Chicago Fire, PD, and Med all being great, I was pretty disappointed with Chicago Justice. I stuck with it for the whole season hoping for some character development or something, but it never happened. They didn’t give any of the characters any identity or personal life. It gets boring if you have no attachment to a character. Stone was fine but again, no personal life really. Same goes for Valdez. Also why did they partner Antonio with such a dud (Nagel)? If the show got renewed for… Read more »
It should have been renewed. Slots and days has a lot to do with a shows popularity. Bring it back!
I am really disappointed Chicago Justice has been cancelled. Really love all of Dick Wolf’s shows.
I thought it was the best of the lot.Reminded me of the quality of Law and Order not the crap the rest of the Chicago series is about
Seriously? It was bad for the first couple shows, then picked up and got really good. I don’t understand?!? You’re really going to eliminate Antonio from being on any of the shows now?!?
I am a fan of Chicago justice and all the Chicago shows. This was a perfect addition to the line up. What a crime! This brought a fresh slant to the court room. It’s better than portraying the vigilante justice we see in so many other shows. I loved the cast.
While I tried and tried to get into this show — and I’m a HUGE fan of the other Chicago series — I just couldn’t and finally deleted all the unwatched episodes on my DVR a couple of weeks ago. I guess I wasn’t alone.
Done pull the plug on this show!!!!
I enjoyed this show!!! Reminded me of Law and Order earlier days!!
Isn’t that just TYPICAL of all these networks??? The trend continues…. once they start a series and people begin to enjoy it…. for some reason, they pull the plug! Uh oh! I just realized… what’s going to happen to This Is Us and some of the other great shows out there…..C’mon NBC, there’s STILL plenty of time…. put back Chicago Justice as well as A.D…, after all, isn’t a network’s programming supposed to be based on the preferences of the people and not on those of those who are operating the network itself?
I enjoyed this series. I like the way the other ‘Chicago’ shows intermingle with each other. I think it deserves another chance.
