TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?

Please say it isn’t so. This is such a great show. Why is it cancelled?
Keep it on.. Great show and the cast is fantastick.
What were you thinking?
Reconsider renewing Code Black. This is one of the few television shows my husband and I will watch. It is very well written and we are now invested in the storylines of the characters.
We get more ridiculous ‘reality’ show, idiotic comedies ‘Life in Pieces’ and then CODE BLACK is canceled. The best show on TV is canceled. Why? I think we are being dumbe-down.
Code Black is a Great Show with interesting characters and story lines. I really hate to see it cancelled as it is a must watch for us each week. We have really gotten caught up in the lives of the main Characters and the great story lines that are explored. Please consider renewing the show.
In my opinion, Code Black is the best drama on television today. It has a cast with great acting ability and storylines to challenge that ability. Please reconsider it’s cancellation.
Please do not cancel, we love this show, and have faithfully watched it, even up against Designated Survivor.
“Code Black” has been on my “Must See” list since I got hooked during season 1. While some of the scenes are quite chaotic, the storylines are loaded with emotion on both sides of the scale and carried out by a very good ensemble cast. I will miss this series if it is, indeed, cancelled. There are far less worthy programs (some on CBS) which seem to go on no matter what. Give “Code Black” at least another season.
Please do not cancel Code Black. Great cast, great storylines.
Why is CBS cancelling this series?? It is one of the best medical programs on TV…. great cast and writers. Please don’t cancel!
Please don’t cancel Code Black – a great show with great story lines and a marvelous cast. They saved Ransom which is an Ok show because it had “international appeal.” How about saving Code Black because it has home appeal. Shift the night, or the time, but give it another chance, please.
I have wTched this show since it came on. Each year there have been major character changes but all for the better. Just when you think it can’t get any better it does!! This year has been exceptional!! It’s my favorite show!! Please don’t cancel. Let another station pick it up.!!
PLEASE DON’T CANCEL. GREAT ACTORS. GREAT SHOW.
Code Black is a great show. I will never understand why CBS is canceling it. It seems like they only renew those fake reality shows. Please bring back Code Black it’s a great show good scripts, great actors, good stories.
Please rethink this decision. Code Black is getting better each season and this one has been the best yet.
