It’s been a long time coming, but ABC has officially cancelled Conviction after one season.
The legal drama follows attorney Hayes Morrison (Hayley Atwell), the daughter of a former President, who gets “blackmailed” into examining possible wrongful convictions. The cast also includes Eddie Cahill, Shawn Ashmore, Merrin Dungey, Emily Kinney, Manny Montana, and Daniel Franzese.
Conviction has widely been considered cancelled since it ended its first season earlier this year. First, ABC decided not to order additional episodes of the freshman drama. Then, season one earned poor ratings, averaging a 0.65 in the 18-49 demo and only 3.57 million viewers. Unfortunately, it looks like this legal drama just failed to catch on.
This is Atwell’s second ABC series to be cancelled. Marvel’s Agent Carter lasted for two seasons and 18 episodes.
What do you think? Did you see Conviction? Do you think ABC should’ve given the show another more time?
No it shouldn’t have been cancelled!
You’s really should stop cancelling shows the ratings maybe be low but when people get interested in the show yous lose more viewers make it more awesome and really hope it does come back the series bring it back please
Really enjoyed the show & really getting tired of getting interested in shows& the n they cancel
i agree!!! really liked it!!!
Shame, shame, this one was spunky and fresh.
I enjoyed the show. Thought the cast went well together. Should have given it a second season.
I loved Conviction. I thought that it was brilliant and excellent acting. I love Mark Gordon’s and Erica Messer’s work. They should have given the show a chance and have at least another season, for things to pick up. I hope that we get it back and that they will consider our feedback here.
the show should have a season 2 it was one of the best shows and was great to watch.. loved this show and so did many others
Apparently, this show was not promoted well. I had not heard of it before today. It is a show I would have watched.
I will say to the many people leaving comments: If you would like to be taken seriously, consider proofreading your statement before posting.
Very disappointing..just watch convictiin season 1 again and it left me wanting even more again.
ABC does it again….cancelling another good show. Already Been Cancelled is more like it with this organization. Keep stuff on the air that has little to no substance, then removes those that do…but then that’s the mentality of most all of them these days. I would have liked to seen a season 2.3,4,5,… just get good writers to keep it fresh and relevant.
I really loved this show! ABC keeps canceling the Good TV shows. I would definitely watch a second season.
Good show would watch a second season. Network fools.
Ok…..Blood and Oil, Conviction and Last Man Standing…..HEEEELLLLLLOOOOOO…..ABC, are you actually paying attention to ALL viewers? I’m 41…..i fit in the demographic and I can honestly say I don’t want to watch stuff on ABC anymore because they keep cancelling the shows I get hooked on!
Wow, Conviction has been cancelled! I’m disappointed in ABC and their assessment of demographics and rating. No offense to any particular “veiwer”group, but as a general consensus “millennials”and their peers watch “Reality TV” (IE: Kardatians, RHW of ???, Marvel Agent Shield & The Bachelor.) Seriously! It’s offensive that a network such as ABC not value my generation and our entertainment desires. How many young people in ABCs demographics (18-49) a have career,to earn the income,to purchase a home and it’s contents which include home entertainment systems. Not my children, or my nieces and nephews! Frankly, they’ve never heard of “Conviction”.… Read more »
Loved that how what the heck are they thinking the way they do the ratings
Using a demographic of 18 to 49 what do they think the rest of us is dead. People over 49 watch TV when was in those age group I was not watching TV.
