What do you think? Do you like the Cougar Town TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
[…] Town has been struggling in the ratings this season and is currently one of the network’s lowest-rated scripted shows. It’s […]
I think the ratings drop has everything to do with ABC’s terrible decision to move the timeslot and take random breaks and not much to do at all with the “quality” of the show going downhill (which it hasn’t, in my opinion). Theirweird treatment of Cougar Town has left even big-time fans like me scratching my head, just trying to figure out when it would be on again and on what day it would land. It almost seems like they were setting it up to fail. It’s such a funny show with just the right amount of quirkiness, quotable snippets… Read more »
I love this show, as noted numerous times earlier it is ABC’s fault for it’s current ratings – please ABC don’t punish it for your mistake.
Don’t cancel Cougar Town, I’m a 22 year old college guy who laughs to the point of side stitches on this show! It’s too funny and the title has nothing to do with the show so give it a chance! Come on People turn on your tvs or at least give the show another time slot!!!
They’re changed the concept of this show. It’s not really Courtney being a “courgar.” They’ve turned it into just another lame sitcom now.
Lame? Are you kidding? The producers and writers figured out quite soon that a “sitcom” about a 40 year old woman trolling for younger guys really would not hold the interest of the audience they were targeting. It revolved into a group of friends that were very compatible, cared about each other, funnier than any other group currently on air and has story lines that keeps us coming back for more. It is cleverly written, casted and directed.
I used to love Cougar Town. This first episode was dreadful. What used to be quirky and fun is now just awkward and contrived. My cringe-meter was off the charts!
@Beth. It was after Modern Family. The line-up for Wednesday was The Middle,Better With You,Modern Family, and then Cougar Town last year. And then they started to introduce Happy Endings & Mr. Sunshine into the fold.I loved all 6 shows. They could have made it an all Wednesday night comedy line-up in my opinion. The Middle,Better With You,Modern Family,Mr. Sunshine,Cougar Town, and Happy Endings would have been perfect, had they not cancelled Better With You & Mr. Sunshine. And since they cancelled BWY,I refuse to watch Suburgatory.I watch The Middle, mute Suburgatory, and then watch Modern Family & Happy Endings.I think the ratings for CT are down because they moved… Read more »
ABC has treated Cougar Town like an unwanted step child. They delayed the third season then scheduled it against two hour-long very popular shows with a season debut on a night when most viewers in the age range they were targeting would be celebrating a holiday that calls for an evening out to dinner. It seems that they are abusing and putting this great show in a losing situation. Shame on ABC for doing no favors to a very funny and well-casted, written show.
Omg! I know..It used to flow great on Wednesday. It would be after The Middle I think. But, that’s Suburgatory. And Happy Endings is in the 8:30 space. They should put Cougar Town before Last Man Standing!
Agreed!!!! Keep this show alive ABC, it could bring in big bucks if you gave it a better time!
The network killed what seemed to be for ABC a popular show.
