The ratings for Covert Affairs have been dropping each season for awhile. Will they keep falling this year? Will they drop so low that the USA series is cancelled or, will it be renewed for a sixth season? Stay tuned!
On Covert Affairs, operatives Annie Walker (Piper Perabo) and Auggie Anderson (Chris Gorham) work together in the CIA’s Domestic Protection Division (DPD). The show’s cast also includes Kari Matchett, Peter Gallagher, Hill Harper, and Nicholas Bishop.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
UPDATE: USA has decided to cancel Covert Affairs after five seasons.
Final season averages: 0.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.54 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: Season four of Covert Affairs averaged a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.27 million total viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Covert Affairs TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season six?
I really hope we get another season. I really want to know if Annie and Ryan are going to work together, or if Annie will go back to Joan. I wish she would just stay at McQuaids. They work so well as a team, even better than Eyal, and I always thought those two were great. But Ryan is so committed to Annie that it made their storyline such a pleasure when everything else was in conflict. I really liked that Belenko was turned by Annie at the end, but it’ll be interesting to see what kind of an asset… Read more »
My wife & I like the show and would really like to see a sixth season. I think this show is under-rated.
I love the show please don’t cancel it! It seems all my favorite shows are being cancelled please don’t take this one too.
I think far more people watch this show then the ratings indicate. I don’t have cable so I have no choice but to stream. They should keep this show on the air but issue it on Netflix or some other streaming site.
Come on USAnetwork. Renew! Don’t cancel this show without giving it a proper send off. Announce a final season so the writers can do the show and characters, especially the main character, justice.
I love this show and think it has gotten a lot darker and more realistic in the last two seasons and would love to see it continue or take it to Showtime or HBO where it could go to even more creative levels. Would be very bummed if it were cancelled!
I agree wholeheartedly
I love this show so much I really hope this show is not cancelled.
I hope if they cancel the snow they at least give us a couple of shows so we can have a happy ending. I hate not knowing what happens to the people in a show. I hated the way they did the Soprano’s. I hope they at least give us another season of the show.
I just watched the last episode and I can’t believe it ended that way. We need the gang back together, not all off doing different things. Bring them back in season 6. Renew. No Tash. She sucks, but everyone else.
Like so many have noted who aren’t die hard shippers, the addition of McQuaid to season 5 was a welcomed one. He bought a fresh character that was both tough and gentle at the same time. A lot like Annie in fact. What I loved about this character, was that he was there for Annie 100% without being pushy or demanding, when everyone else who were supposed to be looking out for her, wanted her to go back to the other Annie. There relationship was carefully written in my humble opinion. I think the writers cared about this relationship. But… Read more »
next day ratings are so 2001. I am a big fan of this show and have never watched an episode live. Always off DVR. This was on opposite sons of anarchy and other strong shows on network tv like person of interest. Plus NBA. I dvr all those shows. Never watch live. Many watch on ipads and such. I would guess there are at least 1/4 of the covert affairs audience who will never be counted in next day ratings. Try back after the Live +30.
I would say more. Most people I know have switched over to online or streaming watching. Half the people on my street doesn’t have cable. I bet half of the viewers of this show isn’t counted live. Shame. It’s a good show too. Hope they renew.
The show needs to get back to the personal relationships. The first year Piper was up for a Golden Globe, why? It was the relationship she had with Ben Mercer and that whole dynamic. I think as a society we get enough of cops and robbers, good guys vx bad guy. What we crave for is making connections with another soul if only through TV because in our high tech world we do not get enough human contact with each other to fulfill our needs.
I think Piper got a GG nod due to her excellent work in the Pilot. That Pilot was awesome, and had everything from action to romance to comedy and she showed she had the chops and range to do all that. It was well scripted and Tim Matteson directed the hell out of it. No other director on the show since has done as good a job since. As you mentioned, Ben Mercer was a good mystery that drove the first season. I know fans generally didn’t like the character, but he brought a personal mystery to Annie’s past that’s… Read more »
I’ve been watching Covert Affairs since it started and I’ve never been disappointed by the show. If I were to criticize anything it might be the fact you haven’t advertised the show as well as you should!! Please don’t cancel this great show.
I have been wat5ching this show since it started.would love to see a season 6 Anne i hope will say yes to Ryan and Oggie will return occasionally I really like his character .Perhaps with his sight restored. Inhope usa renews
I didn’t even know this show existed until this summer and binged watched on Prime. Annie is winsome. I’ve never seen any other of the actors before except Piper Perabo and Peter Gallagher. I was sorry to see Jai written off. It’s changed since the early seasons, but I find the darker aspects interesting, though I would love to see a balance of both earlier charm and the angstier present. I’m dying to know what Annie decided. Hope she’s going to say yes to Ryan and stay with the McQuaid Securities. I really hope USA renews.
In my opinion, love interests have no place in this type of series. Inference and innuendo is OK, but the relationships should not be consummated. I think Piper did a great job in this series and the supporting cast as well. I never found Christopher credible as a non sighted individual. If there are in fact, unsighted persons who move about as freely as he did, I would be quite surprised. As for the appearance of Ryan, I never got to a point that I trusted his intentions and in the finale where he wanted to dump Bellenco (sic) made… Read more »
I’m in agreement with you. Christopher Gorham is definitely not credible as a blind person. I’ve worked around the non sighted, and they do not move in such a carefree way. Never mind the truly not credible physical things he can do. The rest of the cast are great. I agree about Piper too, great job, and it’s a shame that the series is so poorly written, catering to so much affairs and romance in a spy show really killed the show. I love White Collar too. Great bromistry with Peter with a fantastic supporting cast. Again, agree. Neil being… Read more »
