Adam Rodriguez is returning to CBS. Deadline reports the former CSI: Miami star has been cast as a series regular for season 12 of Criminal Minds.
Rodriguez played fingerprint and drug expert Eric Delko on CSI: Miami for 10 seasons until the show ended in 2012.
Though his Criminal Minds character name hasn’t been revealed yet, Rodriguez will play “a special agent who is a member of the FBI Fugitive Task Force and joins the Behavioral Analysis Unit.”
From showrunner Erica Messer:
We’re thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Adam Rodriguez to our amazing cast. We have exciting storylines planned for his character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 12th season.”
Season 12 of Criminal Minds premieres this fall on CBS.

Angie Harmon would make a great adition to the show also. She has played some great roles.
Anxious to see Adam Rodriguez on Criminal Minda. He was great on CSI Miami. Should be a good year. But will miss Hotch. He should be allowed to come back. I just don’t know who could take his place. So glad Emily will be back. Have watched the show since the first episode and can’t wait to see hwo this year goes.
Great addition.
This is a good news. He’s a pretty good actor who was likeable in CSI:MIAMI. if you wanted to bring in someone from CSI:MIAMI that really would have brought higher ratings, I have 2 words: EMILY PROCTOR(unless she is committed elsewhere)
