This season, NBC has found ratings success with new TV series like The Blacklist and Chicago PD. Unfortunately, many of their other new shows — Sean Saves the World, The Michael J. Fox Show, Ironside, etc. — have been cancelled or soon will be. How is Crisis doing? Will it survive to see a second season or will it be cancelled as well?
An action/thriller series, Crisis finds out what might happen if the children of powerful people from Washington, DC were to be held hostage. The cast includes Dermot Mulroney, Rachael Taylor, Lance Gross, James Lafferty, Max Martini, Michael Beach, Stevie Lynn Jones, Halston Sage, Max Schneider, Joshua Erenberg, and Gillian Anderson.
The show debuted in mid-March to a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.5 million total viewers. It was a less-than-impressive start for Crisis and it was in second place in its timeslot.
The second episode dropped 17% in the demo and 21% in viewership. That would be a reasonable second week decline but the ratings were already low to start. Last night’s episode fell again, to a 1.0 in the demo and 4.32 million.
While it seems likely at this point that NBC will let all 13 episodes of Crisis air, it’s higly unlikely that the network will be ordering a second season. The numbers are just too low at these levels.
Hopefully the producers will give loyal fans some closure by the end of the first season because that’s likely all they’re going to get.
But, what do you think? Have you been watching Crisis on NBC? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I love the show, very sorry it is not coming back. First of it’s kind, not like all the stupid shows. Br,ing it back. Please
Cancel Crisis. Horrible show. You should write some good old fashion comedy shows.
CANCEL! It’s a terrible show. The writing is deplorable and predictable. How did they manage to get so many great actors on board such an appalling show?? There is not one single character to care about, kill them, don’t kill them, I don’t care!
renew to season 2
Please keep the show renew it for next season
This has to be one of the worst shows ever! NBC has canceled so many good shows; I will be furious if they actually keep this stupid one. I thought it was going to be decent based on the first show. It’s gotten progressively worse with each show. The entire premise is so thoroughly unbelievable as to ruin any ability to enjoy the show — on top of that, it irritates me how they portray every single government employee as a complete imbecile and traitor. If our government was even a fifth as bad as what’s portrayed in this show,… Read more »
Please keep Crisis.. I looove this show… It’s tge best on television right now!!!
I think its awful to let a show run week after week based on kidnapped children…it’s just awful…DROP IT!!!
Yea give the show a chance, I think it’s good. I think it should be renewed!!
Keep a decent show for a change. Stations keep all the crappy reality TV shows going but cancel the ones with an actual plot and actors/actresses. Don’t be dumb NBC, like you were with Deception, give Crisis a second season chance.
KEEP IT….I LOVE THIS SHOW…
There are people out there ready to pull the plug…God, Give it a CHANCE…Its early in the show and I am looking forward to more seasons…
DO NOT CANCEL!! i know so many people who are huge fans of the show. It captivates us viewers more and more each week. If they had a better time slot for crisis, ratings would go up a lot more
Seriously! We don’t watch tv shows on TV anymore, how about including the hulu Plus, Netflix, subscribers! Get your ratings right, I guarantee this show has 1-3 million viewers on subscription services, that watch this show. Me being one of them!
Stupid rating system
this chum is shark bait
Drop it.
The whole premise begs a ton of suspension of dis-belief. It looks like it’ll be a rehash of the same thing week to week. A parent will be forced to do something… The good guys will either stop it or not… Nowhere else to go.
