As you may recall, NBC aired the first season of Crossing Lines a couple summers ago. It didn’t perform well enough in the ratings and the network opted not to pick up the second season. Crossing Lines has been a success in the international market however and Netflix recently started streaming season two for US audiences.
Deadline now reports that a third season of 12 episodes has been ordered with Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, Revolution) and Goran Visnjic (ER) joining the cast. They’ll join Donald Sutherland as leads, replacing William Fichtner.
The X-Files’ Frank Spotnitz is joining the show as an executive producer alongside Tandem’s Rola Bauer. Crossing Lines creator and executive producer Ed Bernero departed after Season two to be close to his family in California.
The series shoots in Europe and filming will be getting underway next week in Prague. It’s not known when season three will be available here in the States, via Netflix or some other outlet.
What do you think? Do you like the Crossing Lines TV show? Have you seen the second season? Would you pay to watch the third season?
I love this show! I enjoyed the characters in Seasons 1 and 2 more though.
I also just loved this show, the characters, the countries, the intrigue, I could not think of one thing about this show that I did not love. And Donald S was the icing on that cupcake for me, such a great actor who knows his craft unlike the actors of today. Another show that TNT had what was out of this world, it was called *Dig*…..I think it was 6 or 8 weeks only and what a show, the mystery behind the story line, the actors, the scenery, the intrigue, again another great show bit the dust. So what does… Read more »
I binged to watch seasons 2-3. I agreed that the first two seasons gets you hooked and found them different to other shows. I thought season 3 was committed to show about women and kids trafficking problem in Europe of which had no idea. The theme is so interesting but it didn’t feel quite right without Eva and Tommy. I hope they keep making this so interesting series.
What happened? I miss all the old characters. Why did they leave? My family is so sad and want the old characters Carlton Hickman, Eva and Tommy back.
Also miss the old characters, change isn’t always a good thing. Watching episode 3 is like watching another wannabe, will rather find another crime series to watch.
Original cast so much better. Big loss of Fichter, pession and Flood. Visnjic good addition but Elizabeth Mitchell too busy posing and pursing her lips to be convincing in her part.
Darlene SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
Season 1&2 were great. I watched the first 2 episodes of season 3 and sorry to say I was bored! With the characters of Tommy and Hickman gone and Eva and Louis being killed off at the end of Season 2 and also gone this show just isn’t the same. The banter between the characters is gone, the new characters are boring and unimaginative. I’m sad, real got hooked on this show and was so happy the Netflix had season 3, then boom, Hickman and Tommy replaced by “Hickman and Tommy wannabes”.
Agree
I disagree. The new characters in season 3 didn’t have a chance to make the new roles their own. They had big shoes to fill but fill them with their own style. I was really hoping for a season 4.
I love the show. It was exciting and well written. I have watched seasons 1-3, 4 times already.
Didn’t like season 3, couldn’t get past 2nd episode with the Hickman and Tommy wannabe characters. Boring. Put loved Seasons 1& 2
When a good show comes on they seem to get rid of it. I don’t enjoy watching network tv because a good show often just gets dropped. Also, the seasons are so irregular that it is hard to find the show. I would rather wait until the end and watch it on Netflix.
Have watched all 3 seasons and loved every minute thru all the ups and downs, was shocked when Capt. Daniels was killed off and season 3, all the new cast members.
I had company over holidays and we are watching all 3 seasons. Second time for me but first for my company, we are all caught up in every episode.
We loved the first two seasons. The third season, however is disappointing. We think the Original Team brought more drama to the shows. Also, why switch some of the main characters out without an explanation as to what happened to them?
My husband and I really enjoyed the first two seasons and the cast was amazing. When the Major was killed we fully expected that William Fitcher would take his place. This cast was powerful. Season 3 seems insipid and I miss the original cast
This is a great series!!! I can’t wait to see the next season. I wish someone else would pick it up.
after really enjoying season 1&2 , once I got used to the new cast I found my self liking it the same way hope there are more episodes to come with season 4
I just love it. I should not have read the comments since I am now only watcbing Season 2 and know who will not be in Season 3. Probably were killed off. Anyway, Thank You Netflix for putting this mini series on. I can’t believe that NBC cancelled it just aftwr 1 Season. Now, back to the show!!!
Just finished season 2? during binge-watching. The French guy dies, the lady that kills him disappears, Eva’s gone, Tommy and the worst…Hickman. Season 3 pops up and if it wasn’t for Donald Sutherland, I would have thought it was a different show.
Probably wont watch new season. You find a show you like; great writing and acting and then it’s gone.
Bummer!!!
I agree with Chris Michaels. How can you change the majority of the cast without telling us what happened to them? What happened to Eva? Where did Tommy go?
Just finished season 3. I liked this team better than the team in season 2. I did not like the American and the Northern Irish characters in the first 2 seasons.
Already missing William, Marc and Richard. not the same dynamic that made this programme unique. Why change a winning formula
