As you may recall, NBC aired the first season of Crossing Lines a couple summers ago. It didn’t perform well enough in the ratings and the network opted not to pick up the second season. Crossing Lines has been a success in the international market however and Netflix recently started streaming season two for US audiences.
Deadline now reports that a third season of 12 episodes has been ordered with Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, Revolution) and Goran Visnjic (ER) joining the cast. They’ll join Donald Sutherland as leads, replacing William Fichtner.
The X-Files’ Frank Spotnitz is joining the show as an executive producer alongside Tandem’s Rola Bauer. Crossing Lines creator and executive producer Ed Bernero departed after Season two to be close to his family in California.
The series shoots in Europe and filming will be getting underway next week in Prague. It’s not known when season three will be available here in the States, via Netflix or some other outlet.
What do you think? Do you like the Crossing Lines TV show? Have you seen the second season? Would you pay to watch the third season?
I love this show. The European cities, the plot, are very interesting and informative. Please bring it back!
WE loved the first two seasons. We were very disappoint in all the questions left unanswered at the end of season two. THE major, Eva ,Carl and Tommy leavng the show really was too much change. The new cast is good but I would like to see Carland Tommy rejoin the series. TOO disjointed without them!
Love this show would love it to be picked up again and make a few more seasons!!!!! PLEASE !!
watch season one and two in one weekend. Glad it stopped at season three for I am unable to go further.
very disappointed with the cast being killed off at the end of season 2 and the season 3 didn’t have the synergy of the first 2 – bad choice of switching so many characters – Fletcher was a glue – killing off the autistic character was not smart
It look to me like Donald Sutherland is not on the set with other actors but is put in later he never physically interacts with the other actors and always seems to be standing in some awkward place in the room in contrast with other actors even when he is standing face to face with another actor it seems off and clearly they are using a body double for rear shots of hi has anyone else noticed this?
Disappointed in last episode of season- Eva supposedly killed – Major shot dead, killer supposedly gets away and Tommy leaves show without any clear explanation.
I love this series, and am very sad it isn’t being continued. I enjoy the mix of stars, as well as the settings in different countries. As a US citizen, I would like to see more series involving cross border drama. My favorite show are action and mystery related, so it fits my choices in viewing.
I thought crossing lines was one of the best series I’ve seen in a very long time wish they hadn’t cancelled it! It seems like everytime I watch a film which showed you such beautiful places most of us will only see on T.V they cancel it..I have trouble finding gr8 shows w/ a good story line, before finding crossing lines I watched mindhunters another gr8 series thankfully it will be back but not till 2019! But a wonderful movie out on Netflix which is a true story is Jungle fantastic film! Keep up the gr8 work Netflix give us… Read more »
Loved the first two seasons, I do not like the new cast they don’t fit, I like the personalities of the fist two seasons but find nothing in season 3 to identify with.
Season 1 and 2 hit it out of the ball park!
Season 3 didn’t make it to 1st base!
LOL… That is a great analogy!!!
Please bring back the original cast!!! Season Three is OK but it’s not Crossing Lines!!! Leaving so many unanswered questions at the beginning of Season 3 is wrong! Please round up the original cast and give us a few more seasons.
I used to love the show but the new cast is not interesting to watch.
I love this show very much but I must admit I am having a very hard time adjusting to the new cast. If one member leaves it’s bad enough but this was about 75% of the old cast leaving. I will watch it again and try to get into it but without at least William Fichtner in it I don’t know if I can adjust or not.
I couldn’t agree more!!!
I thought the show was a typical cop drama but the characters had 3 dimensions and the locations were exceptional. The actors were fresh faces to me (except for Sutherland). Obviously Flood and Pession had chemistry. Fichtner was on screen a lot as the show progressed but Marc Lavoine’s character was the leader of the group and seemed to have equal screen time. I don’t understand why this show flopped. I paid to see seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix. I have seen the first episode of season 3 but I was disappointed.
