France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
I was hooked the first time I watched this show. Its intriguing and exhibits alot of interesting chemistry amongst the cast. I like the high impact and the suspense in every show. I really really hope they bring it back to NBC. I”m one of those unlucky people that do NOT have cable or satellite.
PLEASE bring it back
I enjoyed the series. I didn’t even know about the show until I saw it offered on Netflix. I would watch the second season on USA, definately.
I hope NBC brings it back. I really liked the show. I would watch second season.
Please bring back the show. I watched it on netflix and loved it.
My wife and would be very disappointed if you dropped a series that is this well done. Please keep it going. We found it on Netflix, and are waiting to purchase the new season from iTunes.
I watched it in the summer and while it did have a crappy air time and on Sundays, I still watched. Its a very good show and obviously people on IMDB liked it as it got over 7/10 for a rating…..if it goes to something like USA, then I won’t be watching season 2 as I’m Canadian and don’t subscribe…..put it on FX or AMC
watched season 1 on netflix and think its a great production. hopefully , nbc will buy it and give it a better showtime. ten pm sunday night? terrible
I think NBC should pick Crossing Lines up for a second season but if not they should move it to USA. I really like the show it has taken over for Burn Notice for me.
If NBC doesn’t want to pick Crossing Lines up for a second
My husband and watched this show on Netflix and loved it. The characters are interesting and the stories exciting . I have read there is a season 2 please someone air it in the United States.
Please keep “Crossing Lines” on in the US. I loved it and never missed an episiode!!!
NBC should definitely renew this series. It’s one of the most interesting crime dramas on TV. If not the main network, NBC should license it for USA. It certainly has the potential to pick up a lot of Burn Notice fans.
We really enjoyed the series. Watched it on Netflix and now want to be able to see the next season.
Keep this show!!! It is great the subplots are interesting, too. Love the locations. So very interesting and suspenceful. KEEP IT!!!
I found this series on Netflix and find it to be a superb series. I never heard of it before and can only imagine it was not that well publicized. We look forward to season 2.
