The series was once CBS’ top-rated show but those days are long gone and it’s now time for the original CSI: Crime Scene Investigation TV series to end. There won’t be a 16th season but there will be a conclusion.
Debuting in October 2000, CSI follows Las Vegas crime scene investigators as they try to solve bizarre cases. This season’s castmates are Ted Danson, Elisabeth Shue, George Eads, Jorja Fox, Eric Szmanda, Robert David Hall, Wallace Langham, David Berman, Elisabeth Hamois, and Jon Wellner.
While CBS is ending CSI as a series they are planning to wrap up the show with a two-hour movie. It will air on Sunday, September 27th, and feature several castmembers who have populated the series over its tenure — including original stars William Petersen and Marg Helgenberger.
Danson, who’s been with the series since the 12th season, will then relocate and become a regular castmember on CSI: Cyber — the latest spin-off series that stars Patricia Arquette and James Van Der Beek.
What do you think? Are you sorry that CSI is ending? Will you be watching the finale movie?
While we enjoyed CSI, most of the long-running shows hit a point when they are no longer fresh and exciting. CSI reached that point several years ago. To see the actors that you love struggling to make the show work is almost unbearable to watch. I, too, hope that Grissom and Sarah get back together. It will be great if the final movie ties up all the loose ends instead of leaving us hanging.
SUPER PEED OFF ….. NO ONE HAS A DAMN CLUE IN THE HEAD OFFICES OF THESE STUDIOS …. GIVE ME THE JOB!!!!
Too bad the show is ending. It had a great run but all good things come to an end. CSI: Cyber is really no replacement, but I am getting used to characters. It all depends on the writers giving us good stories.
CSI Investigations is a staple now at my house and with Ted Danson at the helm a great show. CSI Cyber has a great cast of characters – need more time for some people but a good show.
Sorry
I will definitely watch the 2 hour final installment movie. It will be missed, but it had a great run. They had quite a few special guests in its lengthy run. Perhaps, the special guests will carry over to Cyber. I am enjoying Cyber and getting used to the new characters. It will be great to see Danson join the crew…… Bill
My personal opinion is CSI: Cyber is terrible and even tough CSI has gotten a little old, I would rather the latter stay over the former.
Elisabeth Shue should also be “relocated” … My opinion, thanks …
Killing Warrick was so devastating and breaking up Grissom and Sarah was not a good move. Now, George Eads (Nick) is gone and I haven’t really watched it since his last episode. I will definitely watch the 2-hour movie.
The show was beginning to show its age. While the actors did what they could with the material, there has been something missing for awhile. Whatever it was that drove the show, it went with Helgenberger. A certain, snap, an intensity, that had been there in the beginning wasn’t there anymore.
I hope they get Sarah and Grissom back together. I hated when they broke them up. That was the downfall of the show for me. I do like all the csi shows but this had to be my fave. When they killed off Warrick I was devistated
Still sorry that CSI is ending–but excited to learn that Ted Danson will be joining CSI Cyber!! We were surprised to learn that CSI Cyber had been renewed and had already decided that we wouldn’t be watching it in the Fall. However, now that Ted Danson will be a regular, we’ll definitely be watching! Perhaps a few other former CSI members might drop by?? Just a suggestion …
For once someone is maybe listening. The will be nice to have an ending instead of just leavening all of us that has followed the series from the beginning. I would say that all the other CSI shows sure didn’t help. The main series was good but all the copycats sure killed the idea. Just saying
But CBS thinks CSI-Cyber is going to make it??? People would rather see Stalker. Cyber will FLOP and so many people can’t wait to see that happen.
I agree totally. Stalker was better than CSI Cyber. I don’t think Patricia Arquette can act. Her expression never changes & she talks in a monotone.
Considering I lost interest in the show after Grissom left, I will watch the finale IF he comes back for it. Otherwise, not.
