After posting a series low in the ratings last night, ABC has decided against ordering additional episodes of Dirty Sexy Money. Does that mean it’s cancelled?
Dirty Sexy Money follows nice-guy lawyer Nick George (Peter Krause) who takes over his late father’s only client, the wealthy and powerful Darling family. Tripp Darling (Donald Sutherland) is incredibly influential but is living proof that money isn’t everything. His relationships with his wife Letitia (Jill Clayburgh) and their five grown children is sometimes shaky at best. His adult children are politician Patrick (William Baldwin), promiscuous Karen (Natalie Zea), corrupt clergyman Brian (Glenn Fitzgerald), and immature, party-loving twins Jeremy (Seth Gabel) and Juliet (Samaire Armstrong). Other characters are played by Blair Underwood, Zoe McLellan, Lucy Liu, Will Shadley, Laura Margolis, Bellamy Young, Candis Cayne, Shawn Michael Patrick, Chloe Moretz, Sheryl Lee, Andrea Smithson, and Daniel Cosgrove.
Money debuted in September 2007 on ABC. The premiere episode attracted 10.44 million people and a 3.6/12 rating /share of the 18-49 demographic. The following episodes dropped considerably in the ratings but ABC decided to take a chance and renewed Money for a second season.

Since its return on October 1st, the ratings haven’t gotten any better. Last night’s viewership represented a series low. As a result, ABC has decided against ordering any additional episodes for the season, effectively cancelling the show. There’s a slight chance that Money could return in the future but, with its ratings history, that’s not likely to happen.
The cast and crew are currently finishing up shooting the final episode. It’s not known if it will include any kind of closure for the show’s ongoing storylines.
For now, Money remains on the ABC schedule. If the network pulls it before airing all of the episodes, they’ll likely be released online or, at the very least, be issued on DVD. Stay tuned!
Dirty Sexy Money is a really well written show. It has kept my family captivated since it’s beginning, and ABC is crazy to cancel one of their best shows. This show needs to be given a chance to develop a large following. ABC really hasn’t promoted the show as much as their other shows, which may be an issue.
No! No! No! I may not be able to watch it as it airs because I’m gone in the evening a lot. If I don’t watch it in DVR it! Please don’t cancel this show. It has a great story line with very interesting characters. The acting is great! I mean are these people real?
Please don’t cancel Dirty Sexy Money! I havent looked forward to a show like I have this one in I don’t even know how long!!! The show hasnt even had a chance- after the writer’s strike it was finally back and then every other week it seemed like there was something that preempted it-the elections, various award shows and the like -it didnt even have the chance to pick up speed, viewers didn’t get the chance to get in the habbit of watching it-Give it a steady go of it and I bet you any amount of money, soon you people… Read more »
This can’t happen! We love this show it’s one of the better shows on TV. What a great cast. We look forward to our weeklyk DSM fix. Please reconsider.
please don’t cancel. With my busy schedule and without Tivo or a DVR, there are a couple of shows that I make sure I watch, all being on ABC. One of them is Dirty, Sexy, Money. I have not missed an episode yet and I hope ABC rethinks and reconsiders it’s position.
Please Please don’t cancel Dirty Sexy Money…. We love the show. everyone talks about it the next day at work.Save the show…..
I do not think Dirty Sexy Money should be cancelled. If it is not bringing in the ratings numbers then adjust to get it there. I think it is a great show. Like it very much.
this is the best show ev er! All of the cast is great!!! Accordin g to the TV talk shows, they feel it’s too expensive to put on. Our idea for realitisc is write the bad economy into the show….everyone would be able to relate. Pls, pls, don’t cancel. Donald Sutherland and all are so very good. Pls, pls don’t. Thank you

Outrageous! This can’t happen! DSM is now the best thing on TV. It has even eclipsed Desperate Housewives for pure cliff hanging mock-dramedy.
Poor ratings? How can anyone fail to be impressed with high farce like this? Is it too well written? What?
The acting forms a high point in the careers of everyone in the lineup. Jill Clayburgh in particular has never been better. This is one for the vault of all time TV worth watching.
I really enjoy Dirty Sexy Money and cannot understand why it is being cancelled. The story lines are interesting, the acting is great, especially Donald Sutherland, so corrupt it’s fun. I rarely watch American Shows but really, really enjoy DSM. I find the realty shows are soooo boring and not reality at all, so edited, give me a good story line any time. Please don’t cancel, ABC, listen to your viewers.
This sucks, they cancel every good show, that has a plot and something for over 40’s..enough of the crap for 20ish people. This show has great writing…top notch acting..The only logical reason I could accept for cancelling is it is too expensive because of the cast…But,with that said, with that cast you got a special kind of a show..and I am disappointed…that they would go for more reality shows instead of the meat and potato dramas..stop doing the same old show out of the same damn mold..DSM is clearly a supurb show, put it on Monday night @10 after football airs…and it will rule monday… Read more »
I cannot beleive that the big wig/fat cats who make these decisions at ABC don’t see what a mistake it is to cancel Dirty, Sexy Money. I hate that Boston Legal is gone. These are two shows on ABC that people in the over 40 crowd can relate to. The Bachelor, that’s for young girls only. Dancing With the Stars, Boring as dirt. Come on, ABC…we are the Baby Boomers and we deserve your respect and you should listen to us when we say we want and need shows like Dirty, Sexy Money and Boston Legal. What are you all,… Read more »
I am so upset that Dirty Sexy Money is going to be cancelled!!! They always cancel the good shows. I watch it every week, the people that are not watching it just don’t know what they are missing. I wish ABC would reconsider the choice to cancel.
Not sure where the ratings and decisions are made, but big mistake to cancel DSM. Friends I talk with love the show and have groups that get together to watch and often DVR the show to watch at different times. Such a shame to keep churning through good tv for reality tv junk.
Nielsen is outdated. DSM is probably heavily DVR’d.
