TV show description:
June (Dreama Walker), a wide-eyed girl from Indiana, moves to New York City for her dream job — working at the Buchwald Mortgage Company and living in a big company-funded apartment. Soon after she arrives, June discovers that the company is being shut down because the owner’s been arrested for scamming. June’s job no longer exists, she’s deep in debt and is out on the streets.
It seems that June’s luck has turned when she gets hired at a coffee shop and finds Chloe (Krysten Ritter), a charming and vivacious roommate. June soon learns that Chloe is also a con-artist who swindles her out of all her savings. After June ingeniously turns the tables and scams Chloe right back, the party girl comes to respect June and pulls her roommie into her colorful band of friends. The two girls form an unlikely friendship that leads them both to unexpected, and often illegal, experiences.
Chloe’s good friend is snarky and self-absorbed actor James Van Der Beek (James Van Der Beek), the former star of Dawson’s Creek. His personal assistant is Luther (Ray Ford), a man whose job it is to make James appear to be the best possible version of himself.
Robin (Liza Lapira), is Chloe’s former roommate who lives down the hall from apartment 23. She’s obsessed with Chloe, wants to get back into her life, and spends her days working as an ER Nurse.
Eli (Michael Blaiklock) is a health inspector and a peeping-tom next-door neighbor who spies on the girls. From his window seat, he provides sage and vaguely erotic advice on the goings-on in the girls’ apartment. He’s also a certified blacksmith but no one knows exactly what he does with those skills.
Mark Reynolds (Eric Andre), who would have been June’s supervisor at the mortgage company, now works as her manager at the It’s Just Beans! coffee shop.
Episode #26 — Original Bitch…
Ten years before June moved to New York, Chloe moved into Apartment 23 and met her new roommate, Trish… the original “bitch.” After taking Chloe under her wing and teaching her everything she knew about bitch-itude, Trish betrayed Chloe and disappeared.
Now, thanks to the services of a private investigator, Chloe’s got a lead on Trish and, with June in tow, sets off to exact her long-awaited revenge.
Meanwhile, James learns his father isn’t his real father. Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver) and famed Latin singer and actress Charo appear as themselves.
First aired: released online May 17, 2013
