As fans may already know, CBS has pulled the Doubt TV show from their schedule after only two episodes, making the show effectively cancelled. What do you think? Did the network end the series too soon?
The legal drama stars Katherine Heigl as Sadie Ellis, an ambitious attorney who falls for one of her clients, a pediatric surgeon accused of murdering his girlfriend. The cast also includes Steven Pasquale, Dulé Hill, Laverne Cox, Elliot Gould, and Dreama Walker.
Doubt premiered on February 15th to a lackluster 0.76 rating in the 18-49 demo and 5.31 million viewers — very low numbers for a CBS show. The series’ second episode dropped even further in the ratings, bringing in a 0.55 rating in the 18-49 demo and 4.03 million viewers.
CBS initially ordered 13 episodes of Doubt, which were all reportedly filmed. It remains uncertain when the remaining episodes will air, if they ever will.
What do you think? Have you seen Doubt? Was this CBS TV series cancelled too prematurely? Should the network have given it more time or, were they justified in pulling it after two very low-rated episodes?
Yes, it was cancelled too soon! I loved the characters, they all had some quirky traits thar made them interesting. How can just cancel a show after 2 episodes.
I’m in the 18-49 demo and I like the show it was different and like someone else posted water key and not formulate like the rest of the dramas that’s on TV
I hope a different channel will pick it up; or put it on a another day. Or either Saturday. I was hook just 2 esp. It was really good. So mad after 2 esp that it. Really
I find Katherine Heigl to be a very good actress. I had been looking forward to watching this series, but I thought it would start in September, therefore I missed it, I presume that everyone else did too. Perhaps if Networks would stop premiering series in the middle of winter, they just might find better ratings. I only watch 2 series on CBS, because even though The Good Wife was cancelled, they had the nerve to entertain the idea of airing a shabby spinoff The Good Fight. That show should not have been given a chance, instead, they simply should… Read more »
how low does a show have to premiere before fanbois realize it has ZERO chance?. this was a dead show walking EVEN BEFORE it aired.
This was a ridiculous decision by CBS. They didn’t give it enough marketing, and pulled it before it really had a chance to get going. I’m so disappointed!!!! Were they even considering the number of people that recorded it on DVR in their decision.
Now I’m left wondering when/where/if I’ll get the opportunity to see the rest of the 11 episodes that were filmed. Total BS!
Come on, CBS….quit cancelling the shows that appeal to some intellect!
Two episodes is not enough for people to get into the show. I was just about to get caught up on the show before DVR the rest of the season. How do you know after 1-2 episodes that a show should be canceled. I would like to talk to network executives. If I owned my own TV network this would not happen.
Would this show be a great fit for CBS Access? I am a subscriber now just to watch The Good Fight bc I believed in those actors. Would watch the remaining episodes of Doubt if shown on CBS Access. If content is limited, would not be worth fee and I will not renew.
Poor Katherine Heigl everything she’s on gets cancelled.
Katherine Heigl is a Wonderful actress! She is great in everything she dose. She’s funny, she can make you laugh, and/or cry. There is not one movie or show that she has done/been on that I, my family, and our friends didn’t like. She’s Amazing!!! We can’t wait to see the next movie she’s in or TV show she will be on. CBS has no idea what they gave up…a great show!
I really like Katerine Heigl. Excited to see her new show. Hated State of Affairs was canceled. Wanted to love this show. Didn’t make it 15 minutes. So disappointed. Political and social agendas are forced down viewers throats. Enough. Just write a story and stop trying to make everyone fit one mold. People are different, varied, and equal. The half of the audience being told how awful they are is done dealing with it. They respect the rights and views of others. And their views are just as valid and equally protected by our constitution. Can we all get back… Read more »
It’s so infuriating when something you’re watching gets insta-cancelled! A show needs to be on longer than two weeks to gather a viewer base. It almost seems like they don’t want certain shows to succeed. But then why order them in the first place? Are we going to get to the point where the CEO of a network will be sitting in his office watching the numbers in real time and then twelve minutes into a pilot episode call his programming department and say “Alright, pull the plug!”. CBS sucks anyway. All the real cutting edge programming is on cable… Read more »
This is a great original show and we should at least get a chance to get behind ait and see the remaining episodes.
I agree!!! CBS is getting ridiculous with their cancelling too prematurely. They con’t give anyone a chance to develop their characters!!
This was a good show Cbs cancelled way to quick. The characters all had interesting quirks, there are not enough good shows to watch.very sad this one ended .
This was good show it needed more time the first two shows you got to know the makeup of the group. I’m very sad it’s ended.there are not enough goods shows to watch. Cbs made a big mistake
