Downton Abbey will premiere its final season on PBS in January, and one star is glad that the show is over. Maggie Smith stars on the series, and she realizes that her character is truly too old for television.
Some might say that is not a nice thing to say, but her character is 110 years old. That is not the norm for most television stars. In real life, Smith is 80 years old.
Cinema Blend shared her comments about the end of the series.
“Oh yeah. No I really am. Because honestly, she was about—by the time we’re through—she must’ve been 110. So, I couldn’t go on and on and on. I couldn’t. It just didn’t make sense.”
For those that live in the UK, the series will wrap its final season next month. In the US, the final season will premiere on January 4.
