It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I loved this show. I was so tired of those stupid reality shows, it was nice having something fun to watch. I wish another network would pick it back up. I think ABC will be disappointed in the long run that they cancelled it. The characters were wonderful to watch and had great chemistry. Too bad ABC doesn’t recognized that.
I am sooo upset about this. I think it is a sad day for tv when shows like Cooger town get picked up but Eastwick gets pulled before it had a chance. how about putting it in a better time slot? They didn’t try and now just when its getting good it pulled before i can find out what even happens. at least tell the rest of the story. come on. I LOVE Eastwick. Finally, a show that I looked forward to watching. I rushed home from whatever we were doing to make sure I got to see it. PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL!
I LOVED THIS SHOW!!!! I CANNOT BELIEVED IT GOT CANCELED, SERIOUSLY EASTWICK WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEK….ALL TIME FAVORTIE SHOW THAT I WATCH!!! I HATE IT GOT CANCELED…IT WAS SUCH A GOOD TV SHOW!!!!
I am SO disappointed! I really enjoyed this show… a refreshing change from crime, law & order, stupid 1/2 sit-coms and reality shows.

I completely agree with you Judy! Finally a great show instead of the same ol’ crap. I always looked forward to Eastwick.
I am happy to see others feel the way my friends and I do. We no sooner get interested in a show, then they change it, or they move it, or the take if off for a while…. it makes no sense and they wonder why ratings aren’t good on certain shows.. How can they be?
It’s good to vent on these message boards, but do the networks care how we feel and do they even read any of this?
This is exactly why I usually never start watching a new show when it first airs… I get hooked, then they yank it out from under me. I’m very disappointed. This was a great show. I agree with Terry… the airing was too sporadic. If it hadnt been for my DVR catching it, I would never have known when it was/wasnt going to be on. That was frustrating too. I loved this show. I’m sad to see it end so fast. I guessed I figured if I like everybody else does.
I loved this show but I didn’t get to watch it very often. There wasn’t much advertisement so I was never sure when to catch it on. It’s almost as if the network set it up for failure. I’m sooo disappointed!
Finally a Wednesday line up that was enjoyable and then you cancel Eastwick? Come on!!! I stayed up to watch and loved that it wasn’t a reality program. Enough with the reality shows…Bring Eastwick back. I’ve never commented on something like this before, but it just angered me that I lost yet another good program.
I really like this show and so disappointed that they canceled it. My Wednesday night viewing is not complete without Eastwick. who watches Ugly Betty anyways???
I really enjoyed the first season of Eastwick. I feel like the ratings were low because of the late time slot. Not sure about the impact of it being on Wednesdays but I think if the show had been on just an hour earlier it would have survived. Hope someone will see this and consider a move somewhere down the line.
I just got into the show and looked forward to it on Wed. I am not an ugly betty fan and was mad it was not on tonight so I looked it up. I really liked it.

I think one of the contributing reasons for this show having such a decline was the story line moved along too slow in the beginning ABC sporadically would air it and the next week not, really didn’t allow the show the permitted chance to form a larger audience and increase viewership.
