It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

It’s really too bad the Ugly Betty came back. I didn’t like it the first time. Eastwick took you a little out of this world, away from reality shows and let you be entertained! It was getting more and more interesting but you skipped weeks, and lost your audience. I even set my DVR to find new episodes because I was tired of getting ready to watch it and you would shedule something else in it’s slot. It’s definately more interesting than Lost which I only started watching on Wed. because there was nothing else worth watching on!
I really wish they bring it back I loved the show and thought it was getting more and more interesting.

I love Eastwick. I really think ABC should reconsider before pulling the plug. The ladies are hilarious. I think it is well written (like the book). The show is magical and the characters/actors are great! I look forward to each episode and I am quite disappointed when other shows take over Eastwick’s time slot! There just isn’t a lot of good stuff on T.V. anymore but this is one show worth watching EVERY week!!!!
I would like at the very least if the series really is cancelled, for some-one who is/was invovled with the show to give us some idea of what would have happened just to put all our curious minds at rest. i think it’s only fair 🙂
What a terrible mistake. There is nothing else worth watching on ABC now. This show was slow at first but then got more engaging each week. I was anticipating more as each week went by. Very Sad!
Man this stinks I loved this show!!! Come on ABC don’t cancel it. Does these ratings include those people who DVR so they do not have to watch comercials? I am one of those people, that should be considered especially with all the technology these days. I bet a lot of people have done the same I bet it was a lot more popular than there ratings show if that issue was not thought about.
I agree with most of the other women, when I say I Loved That Show!!
My opinion is They should read these comments and see how many people really watch and love the show. like someone else said… “Its alot better than some reality show” and their right. Now ABC made a mistake by taking it off but its another networks gain. I sure hope some other network picks it up and airs it soon.

I loved this show that really sucks that you guys are going to cancel it.
I love eastwick and am so sad to hear it is cancelled. The characters are hiliarious and original. What a refreshing concept. And I am with the rest of you… enough with the crime dramas about sicko men serial killers, molesters, etc. and reality shows. Oh are those the same thing? I have enough reality around me, Eastwick took me away from that. Anyway thanks for the memories!!!!
If you want to make a difference contact “STEPHEN MCPHERSON” The head of programing for ABC. He is not hearing your complaints…make yourselves heard. They are already having remorse over placing the really Ugly Betty back on. If you want to make your thoughts known go to the ABC website and look for McPhersons email and send your demands to him. Look at the fiasco on NBC with the Leno, O’Brian et all mess. No one is happy with TV right now and they have found it doesn’t pay to run reality shows as they have no long term followers… Read more »
I love this show! It is fun and entertaining, kind of a “magical Desperate Housewives”. I DVR it and wondered why it wasn’t recording?! I will miss these ladies and this story line if it doesn’t come back. Hope ABC will reconsider!
I LIKED THE SHOW A LOT, I AGREE, THIS WAS A HECK OF A LOT BETTER THAN SOME STUPID REALITY SHOW. I WISH SOME OTHER NETWORK WILL PICK UP THE SHOW.
I just love eastwick it figures it got taken off the air everything worth watching does. If the network put it on consistently instead of yanking on and off and sticking it everywhere, maybe people would get a chance to get into it. If you have to search for a show people won’t bother. Hopefully some other network will pick it up .it’s your loss ABC.
I AGREE….REALITY SHOWS S***!!!!! EASTWICK WAS AN AWESOME SHOW… I AM REALLY UPSET THAT IT IS BEING CANCELLED. WHY ARE THE GOOD SHOWS ALWAYS BEING CANCELLED?
