There have been many successful projects based on the Land of Oz book series by L. Frank Baum. There’s also been a number of flops. Now, NBC is trying a television series called Emerald City. Will it be another hit or a disappointment? Will the Emerald City TV show be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
A fantasy drama, Emerald City is the tale of a young woman named Dorothy Gale (Adria Arjona). She finds her true strength and identity as she battles to bring a divided world together. An all-powerful ruler called the Wizard (Vincent D’Onofrio) governs over one kingdom. He has outlawed magic and faces a looming disaster brought on by a mythical force — as well as the wrath of a growing cauldron of witches. The rest of the cast includes Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ana Ularu, Mido Hamada, Gerran Howell, Jordan Loughran, and Joely Richardson.
5/5 update: Emerald City has been cancelled by NBC. There will be no second season. Details here.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/4 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Emerald City TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I love the show. It’s so different then anything else on TV. Please don’t cancel this great Friday night story.
I love it! I wish the naysayers weren’t so entrenched in phoney stimulation. This series is perfect. Just the right amount of everything. If you want non stop laughs watch a sit com
Im waiting for season 2
Ever see those cartoons of a skeleton draped in cobwebs?
Love it. Hoping for season 2
ENJOY. 1 SEASON ONLY.!!!
Seems a bit more like the comic book version, which isn’t a bad thing. Dark and gritty seems to be TV’s thing now, like comics in the late 90s and early 2000s. I hope they inject enough fun to keep it going, the cast is great, the visual style is fresh. I’m sorry, but not every fantasy price is Game of Thrones, this actually has a bit of a steam punk feel, absent from the HBO show. So far I’ve enjoyed it very much, it’s not trying to be that other show the constant comparisons I read a really jaded… Read more »

Dead Show Walking
I didn’t know if i’d be able to erase T.W.O.O., that we grew up with, from my mind or not, and give this a fair chance. I’m liking this show, a lot more than i thought i would. Can’t wait to see how it plays out, if the ratings survive.
At least you’re willing in the case that is to give something different a chance. I’m sick of the fight with ratings. Wish they would go by something else. Due for a big change in tv rating system.
I think it’s a very good show, and everyone should give it a try.
Not a lot of resonance yet :/ I liked it and hope we will see more
