Why is Episodes ending? Recently, Matt LeBlanc discussed the Showtime series with Entertainment Weekly.
From David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik, the comedy revolves around a British couple (Tamsin Greig and Stephen Mangan) who are trying to reproduce their hit UK series for an American network with Matt LeBlanc (playing himself) as the star. The cast also includes John Pankow, Kathleen Rose Perkins, and Mircea Monroe.
Earlier, Showtime announced that the upcoming fifth season of Episodes would be its last. Regarding the series’ end, LeBlanc said the decision was up to the show’s creators:
It really started with David and Jeffrey [Crane and Klarik, the show’s creators]. They felt like they had told their story, and the five seasons were enough. It kind of ends in a very organic, nice way. It’s really hard to keep those three people in the same room together. Not impossible, but they felt that it was time, so I was like, “Okay.” We always had a deal, the three of us: David, Jeffrey, and I. When the time has come, the time comes, and we all support that.”
He also teased the upcoming final season:
It’s probably the most poignant season. How’s that for cryptic?”
The fifth and final season of Episodes is slated to air in 2017.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Episodes? What do you hope happens in the last season?
This show was one of the best written and acted programs on television. The cast was perfect. It sometimes confounds me that the brilliant programs have short lives, but the so-so formula comedies survive year after year.
this is great tv series and one of the best on tv the writers are so Creative I would love to watch another show created by them , the show deserve more Viewers than what it has.
Really enjoyed this show. Glad it’s going on a high note
One of the best written comedies on tv today. Will really miss it.
