What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Netflix paid subscription platform, Flaked stars Will Arnett, David Sullivan, George Basil, Ruth Kearney, Robert Wisdom, Lina Esco, Dennis Gubbins, Travis Mills, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. The dramedy centers on Chip (Arnett), a popular denizen of Venice, California. Despite his great reputation as a local sobriety “guru,” Chip has been drinking on the sly and hiding it from his friends and associates. He’s also in danger of losing his business and has fallen for his best friend’s crush. Can he climb back on the wagon and get himself together, or will he remain entangled his own web of lies?

Telly’s Take
I’ll admit it. I’m nursing a bit of a grudge, where Flaked is concerned. Since the first season generated neither buzz nor critical acclaim, I was all set to swoop off to Venice, for a seaside supper. Yet, in the end, that pesky season two renewal deprived me of basic sustenance. Unless Netflix decided to promote a show’s viewership, there are no Flaked “ratings” for me to assess. However, I have a great view of entertainment news from high upon my perch, so I’ll keep an eye out for any Flaked cancellation or renewal items. I’ll update this page, as soon as Netflix announces its next move. Subscribe for free updates.

Husband and I watched reluctantly at first but were quickly hooked. Was so excited by season 2 and the more nuanced character development. We’ll be really disappointed if it’s killed. Not many shows of this sort on Netflix, or anywhere. It’s subtle, not whacky. Serious, but not too heavy. A glimpse into a real part of LA that most outsiders don’t get to see. Music is great too. If NF promoted it, it would be a big hit.
I would love a third season. This show is amazing! They need to advertise the show, so people know about it.
I really hope it’s renewed for a 3rd season. I loved everything about it.
Get a few attractive chicks and the story will drag them in…. the foundation is there for a breaking bad level show if you dont abort.
I’d be devastated if they cancel this series. Being in recovery myself, it’s scary how well Flaked depicts sober life and the people who flow in and out of it. But that’s what makes it so fresh and entertaining. I’ll continue praying for it’s return.

Flaked is pretty bad. First is the premise that sexy, attractive, young women would be attracted to a much older man with no money, no home, no car, average looks at best and a drinking problem. Second, how stupid is Dennis to stay friends with Chip and allow him access to all the free wine he can take? Third, I found myself hoping for Chip to fall, to fail, to lose and to suffer. I can’t lie, I was absolutely engulfed in the script and I’ve been constantly checking for a season 3 update! The characters are very relatable and the relationship dynamics are what I would call both effortless and perplexing. Please keep it coming!
