TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed forever. I am getting so tired of these shows with any substance being cancelled.
We are finding ourselves watching less and less.
Why oh why have you cancelled this show, it’s one of the better TV shows. I like many others used to look forward to the next episode and now it’s cancelled. Why is everything about ratings, if there is enough people watching the show that should tell you that this is a good TV series and deserves a second series. Why cancel the show when Henry is about to tell Jo his secret. Please get your head out of your ar*es and re-instate this excellent TV show, listen to your public and we all want this show to have at… Read more »
I agree with all the replies, here is a nice show where the main characters are nice, a show where one can sit and watch. Most shows now are extremely violent or extremely puerile and now there is nothing left to watch, thank goodness for books.
THE PROBLEM WITH ALL THE NETWORKS IS THEY HIRE KIDS OUT OF COLLEGE WHO HAVE NO TALENT OR TASTE THEY THINK SOME DUMB ASS REALITY SHOW WITH PEOPLE MAKING FOOLS OF THEMSELFS IS GREAT BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO BRAINS
This was the best show of the season by far This needs to be bought back
I just now read about Forever being canceled. This was the only show I watched and was intrigued by the premise of the show. With a glut of reality shows and other “junk” on TV, this was refreshing. I watch very little TV and, when I do choose a show, it’s usually one that ends up being canceled after one season. At least I have The X-Files to look forward to in January 2016.
ABC: please reconsider reinstating Forever.
Forever is a intriguing romantic television show, that provides fantasy with the ugly world of reality. Change the night, but bring it back. The cast is amazing, it is witty and romantic as well. You may not be Outlander put people need break from reality. Forever provides that. It deserves a second chance. Just when is about to tell Jo.
I only watched 3 tv series.
The Mentalist – Cancelled
Forever – Cancelled
Castle – my last chance
I agree. There is so much trash out there, that there is very little good television left.
72 cable channels, and I have only one problem to watch, which is on hiatus now 🙁
Jeesh people.
My family loves the TV show Forever. We would dvr it and watch it together when we all could be together. We were sad to hear that it had been cancelled. The cast and episodes were great, it always kept us wanting to see more.
My friends and I waited all week every week for the next episode.
We were severely disappointed that the show was cancelled as it was a much better show than other programs that were renewed.
This is one of three shows that I watch on ABC……they always seem screw up and send me to other channels.
What next….cut “Castle”?
Why did you cancel one of my favorite shows? it should have been renewed!
We really liked the show Forever. We would like it to come back. Is there any talk of the show being aired again? We sure hope so !
I think CBS is stupid for cancelling Forever. With so many lackluster shows on the air this was a breath of fresh air. I fail to see how The Simpsons, Big Brother and shows of this ilk can survive and good caliber shows like Forever get the axe. I guess I’m in the minority of people who appreciate quality TV shows. Frankly CBS doesn’t offer much in the way of good programs anymore. The only one I’m sticking with is Scorpion. I just hope CBS is not dumb enough to cancel it.
Sorry, Pamela Unger, but you’re blaming the wrong network. “FOREVER” was on ABC. They’re the scoundrels who didn’t renew it for Season 2, not CBS.
Please do not cancel “forever”. The exceptional cast and incredibly entertaining episodes are the best television I have seen in years. The programming the show is up against is dark and cruel television. Perhaps that is the reason (CBS). Please listen to your networks audience and renew this beautiful and intriguing series.
