TV show description:
A fantasy crime drama, this TV series follows New York City’s star medical examiner — Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), handsome man with a secret past. No matter how hard he tries, Henry can’t age even a single day — he’s immortal. He doesn’t know much about what happens when he “dies” except that everything on him disappears and he reemerges in a body of water, naked.
Henry doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases however. He does it to try to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the reason for his own inexplicable immortality.
Henry’s long life has given him remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner, Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). This piques her curiosity about who he is. Each new case and their budding friendship reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past. Jo’s sharp, no-nonsense instincts and her ability to close difficult cases have given her a tough-as-nails reputation on the force, despite also dealing with the untimely loss of her husband.
Lucas Wan (Joel David Moore) is a twenty-something self-proclaimed “artisan of death” and Henry’s worshipful assistant. He considers mortuary science an art, and Henry its Picasso. After transplanting to New York City from rural Ohio, Lucas worked up the courage to introduce himself to the star medical examiner at a crime scene.
A Brooklyn native, Detective Hanson (Donnie Keshawarz) works alongside Jo and has worked his way up to the NYPD’s elite squad of homicide detectives. He’s a family man who lives with his wife and two children in Queens. Unafraid of bending the rules to get the job done, Hanson is sometimes skeptical of Henry’s talent but often admires its effectiveness.
No one knows Henry better than his best friend and confidant, an antique shop owner named Abe (Judd Hirsch). The keeper of Henry’s immortality secret, Abe’s “carpe diem” philosophy inspires Henry to get more in touch with the beauty of living. Abe is not immortal but he is determined to make the most out of every moment of life.
Episode #22 — The Last Death of Henry Morgan
Henry and Adam have been on a long, unrelenting collision course, which is about to come to a head – possibly bringing about one man’s death – with only Jo standing in the way. Henry and Jo’s murder investigation into a museum worker’s death centers on a priceless missing ancient dagger, which not only ended the life of Julius Caesar, but also killed Adam the first time.
Meanwhile, Adam knows that there is something that Henry fears more than death – that Jo might discover his mystery. The two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation.
First aired: May 5, 2015.
What do you think? Do you like the Forever TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I love the show. Please don’t cancel it.
I love this show. I’m shocked its getting cancelled and I’m annoyed at ABC. They are always the first network to ditch a show if the ratings are not as high as they want… NO LOYALTY !! I barely even watch the network anymore due to this!
The creator was sued for plagiarism. Meaning he stole the idea for the show. Which I’m sure is way it’s not returning. Awesome show.
Not much of a surprise. A show has a terrible timeslot with a terrible lead in (Marvel Agents of Shield has been getting more ridiculous by the week good thing Disney owns ABC) that out performs last year’s show in same timeslot (also cancelled) is canned. TV is not about quality shows its about money and the execs keep telling us that every year. Last year’s Almost Human is another good example.
This was one of my favorite shows. Boo to you.
Irritated and sad that a good program is needlessly canceled by ABC. The program had good acting, good story lines and a good fan base. It was so refreshing to watch a TV program that didn’t contain graphic language and continual violence. I’m sure ABC is planning to introduce another “reality” show that I won’t watch. Now that Forever is gone I will only watch ABC for “The Middle” and “Castle.”
I can’t believe that Forever has been cancelled. I hope ABC reconsiders their decision — OR — one of the cable stations decides to pick it up. Great show, great cast and great writing.
I am very disappointed by this decision. This is an excellent show: well written, strong characters, smart, funny. Maybe TNT or USA will pick it up. I waited all season for Dr. Morgan to share his secret with Detective Martinez and now it is cancelled??? Such a let down. This show deserves more of a chance. I watch it faithfully off of my DVR with my family.
Was very much looking forward to the next season, but now my husband and I are very disappointed this show has been cancelled? All the characters are likeable and bring their uniqueness to the show. Why do the networks cancel intelligent shows and keep the ridiculous ones, is beyond us!!!
I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT ABC IS CANCELLING FOREVER.
THIS IS A GOOD SHOW SOME OF YOU EXECTIVES SHOULD LOOK AT SOME OF THE OTHER SHOWS THAT ARE ON AND TAKE THEM OFF
NOT A HAPPY CAMPER
Love the show.
Hate reality shows.
What is wrong with theses people?
Once Again, the Executives have focused only on the $ and not on the quality
given more time this show would have been you next money maker it was smart, well written, with a great story line and well season actors you should not have cancelled this show you have lost a view and worse a consumer for you commercels. blind blind blind
so long ABC
I am so disappointed! What a neat all round great cast.
I can’t believe that ABC cancelled this extraordinary tv series. My hub and I simply loved watching it. It was intriguing with great characters. This TV series had it all, adventure, comedy and tender romantic moments. We are totally disgusted with the decision to not continue adding seasons to this brilliant tv series. There is so much junk TV on now that we are sad that we will have nothing to look forward to watching now. This was a bad decision.
Do not cancel this show. This program could have get legs if you just gave it a chance!
All characters are just starting to find their footing.ABC has some great shows and this is one of them. This one needs a chance.
