TV show description:
Divorced father Gary Brooks (Jay Mohr) is readjusting to life as a bachelor. Three months after his split, he coasts back to living the way he did prior to saying “I do.”
His ex-wife, Allison (Paula Marshall), sees this lifestyle as a problem when their children are spending time with their dad. Fortunately, in many ways, they’re more mature than he is. Louise (Laura Marano, later Kathryn Newton) is overly socially responsible and a vegetarian. Tom (Ryan Malgarini) is a shy teenage boy who’s just starting to learn about the opposite sex.
Gary owns his own house painting business and when he accepts a job to paint a condo, he meets a beautiful single mom named Vanessa Flood (Jaime King). The two take a liking to one another right away but Gary and his ex-wife have rules as to when it’s appropriate for them to start dating again. When he discusses the possibility of having a new woman in his life with Allison, she drops a bombshell on him; she’s engaged. And worse yet, she’s marrying their former marriage counselor, Dr. Walter Krandall (Ed Begley Jr.).
Gary finds the news hard to take but moves forward for the sake of the kids and to put an end to his alimony payments. As he rediscovers single life, Gary may be unmarried but he’s anything but unhappy.
Wow ! This show had a great start and then the writers went brain dead. Season two went straight into the tank. When his brother and dad showed up far to much and him getting a job at the radio station and falling for his boss was just terrible. They should have stuck to the first season formula.
I was just remembering how much we liked this show. Too bad they cancelled this great show.
why are so many of the good shows being cancelled. i loved Jay Mohre on Ghost whisperer, he added some fun to the show. Now he has his own show which is great too. don’t cancel him and put him also back on ghost whisperer. Now that would be the thing to do!!
Gary Unmarried Is one of the better shows on Tv . So please keep it on . Cause someone in tv land always has to get rid of the good shows and keeps the the bad ones whats with that ..I don’t get it .
Another great show might get the axe. Whats the reason to watch tv anymore? I loved Jay Mohre on Ghost Whisperer and couldn’t wait to see this show; although it was rough in the begining it came out to be a great show. Also Ghost Whisperer; has gotten slow and boring without him (Jamie Kennedy is good; it is just the story lines). Gary Unmarried should stay! Best new comedy since Bing Bang Theory. CBS has the best shows on TV since TGIF Friday on ABC.
Gary Unmarried excellent show. Love it!! My fiance and I cannot wait for it too come on every week. The humor is awesome. Great 1/2 hour. I see it could possibly not be renewed. KEEP IT ON!!!! I cant count how many hours of crap is on tv right now keep something good.
