The big Gilmore Girls revival is still in early development, but one of the beloved series’ stars hopes to be part of it.
In October, it was revealed that Netflix would be bringing back the WB dramedy for four episodes.
Speaking to E! Online, Danny Strong said he’d be “very interested” in returning to the world of Stars Hollow. Strong, who has gone on to co-create FOX’s Empire among many other projects, played Doyle, the boyfriend to Liza Weil’s headstrong Paris. In 2013, Strong won two Primetime Emmys for writing the HBO film Game Change.
Strong joins former castmember Vanessa Marano in the list of Gilmore Girls actors looking to join the Netflix reboot. So far, only a few details have been revealed about the new episodes. The four 90-minute episodes will each take place during a season of the year. And while it hasn’t been officially announced, it is likely that leads Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham will return to reprise their roles as Rory and Lorelai Gilmore.
Danny Strong, on the Gilmore Girls reboot:
I think Gilmore Girls is a perfect show to do a reunion like this. I think it’ll work really well because it was a show about characters and a world and their relationships. So you can just pick up those relationships. I think we would be very interested to see where they’re at now.”
What do you think? Would you like to see Danny Strong return? What other recurring Gilmore Girls characters would you like to see again?
