TV show description:
This stop-motion animated series is geared more towards teens and adults rather than children. With a 70s sensibility, it follows the adventures of a traveling dentist and his family. He burns down their house and then takes his family on a cross-country road trip in a Winnebago to strengthen the bond of his family.
Glenn Martin (Kevin Nealon) loves his country, his family, and dentistry. It’s a combination of these values that cause him take off on a cross-country road trip to protest the demolition of his favorite childhood park. The trip is all for naught as far as saving the park, yet Glenn and his wife realize that the trip has brought the family closer together and decide to stay out on the road. He’s thankful for all they have, but does wish he had a closer physical relationship with his spouse.
A proud wife and mother, Jackie Martin (Catherine O’Hara) is very fond of the niceties of home, but resolves to get used to the RV ways of life… eventually. She’s an overachiever, yet really hasn’t achieved very much. As long as she can keep everything orderly, though, everything will be okay.
Jackie and Glenn have two children, Conor and Courtney. Their son Conor (Peter Oldring) isn’t too bright and has a body full of 13-year-old hormones. He’ll take whatever girl or woman he can get, even an Amish spinster.
Courtney (Jackie Clarke) may only be 11 years old but she’s a workaholic who sees all the Martins’ new adventures as money-making opportunities. She wears a power suit, but is still a tween at heart, reading gossip rags and wearing lip gloss.
Wendy Park (Judy Greer) is Courtney’s 13-year-old assistant who comes along on the Martin family adventure because of a co-dependency with Courtney. Canine is the Martin family dog who is very sensitive about his large anus. Unlike most dogs, he passes judgment on the family that loves him.
