The Greatest American Hero has some new company. Deadline reports George Wendt, Gia Sandhu, and Zenobia Shroff have joined the ABC reboot pilot.
The original comedy-drama starred William Katt as Ralph Hinkley, a substitute teacher who acquires a super-powered suit that allows him to fight crime and injustice. The series ran on ABC from 1981 to 1983.
ABC‘s reboot pilot of The Greatest American Hero stars Hannah Simone as “Meera, a 30-year-old Indian-American woman from Cleveland, whose talents include tequila drinking and karaoke and not much else. Then some aliens entrust her with a super suit to protect the planet, and the world has never been in more unreliable hands.”
In the reboot, George Wendt has been cast as “Meera’s (Simone) boss, Bob Rice”, Gia Sandhu will play “play Mona, Meera’s pretty, Type A sister,” and Zenobia Shroff will portray “Leena, Meera’s elegant, inscrutable mother.”
What do you think? Do you remember The Greatest American Hero? Would you watch the reboot?

Seriously? I just rolled my eyes reading that. At least the original was a substitute teacher. Because she’s a woman she can’t have a real job or be relatively normal?
Haha, you made me out loud!! The original series had a high power attorney suger mama lawyer for his gurlfriend.
While the guy was the subservant “special ed” teacher.
Feminism is the chief complaint about this plot? LoL
A rehash of a so so 80s show.
sounds like snore fest
