Grimm aired its series finale at the end of March, and recently executive producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf spoke with Deadline about a possible future for the NBC TV show.
The show follows Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli), a homicide detective who fights mythological forces. The cast also includes Russell Hornsby, Silas Weir Mitchell, Bitsie Tulloch, Reggie Lee, Sasha Roiz, Bree Turner, and Claire Coffee.
In the interview, Kouf said they’d be open to a Grimm spin-off but the series ending was meant to have closure:
We just leave all our options open. You just never know. … It seemed like a very fairytale ending to the show. We really wanted to close the book on it.”
When asked about the possible future for Nick and Juliette, Greenwalt said the ending they got was more realistic:
There are a lot of people who have a lot of opinions about that on both sides of that question. But I think that there was such a beautiful speech in the third to last episode in which Eve/Juliette says, “I wouldn’t go back if I could … We’ve all grown, we’re all different now than we were.” So I think that’s more realistic.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Grimm? Would you watch a spin-off?
Yes, yes, yes to a grimm sequel!!!
I would love to see more seasons of Grimm. If yous have to make a spin-off fine, but I would prefer Grimm to come back. I even named my cat Grimm, after the show, about 2 years ago. I loved the show and always will. My whole family would watch Grimm. #SaveGrimm.
I would love more Grimm, either as a return of season 7 or as a Spin-off! I love Grimm and have loved it from day 1!
I would love to see a spinoff or another season of Grimm.
Would love to see it back. I was very disappointed it was cancelled and I know quite a few others that also were.
My family was so sad as well when we saw the end of the show. Always looked forward to every Friday night’s show!
I would love a Spinoff of Grimm!!! Please Please Please
Grimm should stay love it different not usual same boring show please come back fridays made end of week happy
I would definately watch it. There is a hole in my Fridays now. That show was consistently well scripted. I feel Grimm fans would love a spinoff.
Well if you are interested in seeing some of the props in person that were in Grimm, then come on out to Halloweentown st. Helens Oregon. We have a Halloween festival for Halloweentown the Disney movie as well as celebrating Halloween through the month of October. A lot of the props were donated to our nonprofit. It is going to be a lot of fun this year with some sadness Debbie Reynolds passing. but we will be doing a memorial remembrance of her. I think Kimberly Brown the character Marnie in Halloweentown will be attending as well. We also have… Read more »
I would watch it. It was left open for new or anything to come. There should be a spin off series for trubel. Or even kelly and diana.
I miss Grimm already! The ending was OK, although I did feel bad about Juliette. She ended up homeless and alone, which is a long way from a successful professional with a home and a loving boyfriend. Never warmed to Adalind, either. I’ll look forward to seeing the talented cast in future roles. Maybe, just maybe, they could bring the original team together in a few years to see where everyone went after this finale. People enjoy seeing the development of their favorite characters over time. Thanks to all for pleasurable entertainment.
It seems that whenever there is a series that people enjoy, the producers take it off the air. Grimm was a show that my husband and I would look forward every Friday night to watch. The cast and the writing were amazing. It broke my heart to see it end. We would certainly love it if you would bring it back!
Need some of original characters in the show.
It would be nice, but the crime fighting idea is sorta interesting.
I would love the series to continue. Love the show
Miss the show, but especially miss the characters: Monroe, Rosalie, Trubel, Hank, Wu, etc. Don’t know if they could pull off a show that retained the same qualities with a whole new cast but would certainly give it a shot.
