Hannibal fans have hope. The series was cancelled by NBC after just three seasons, but there is word that a fourth season is still definitely in the cards. According to The Wrap, Bryan Fuller spoke about the future of the series at an event held on Wednesday.
He said the following:
“The cast is game, I’m game, it’s just a matter of finding the right time where everybody’s schedules sync up, but I would love to continue to tell the story with [series stars] Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen.”
Fuller has a full plate at the moment with American Gods and the new Star Trek reboot in production, but he has a date in mind for the start of discussion for season four. He teased the following:
“August 2017 is when we can actually start talking about it. That’s when we would have to see what the rights are for the character and for the story, and see who’s interested and how we get it done. I have the story, and the cast is excited for the story, so we’re ready to go if somebody wants to go.”
That could mean a return date in 2018 – if the talks go well. Do you want Hannibal to return? Tell us what you think.
Yes, I want. Season 4, and more if possible 😉
Yes! I’ll be praying for season 4!!!
Pleeeeese bring Hannibal back !!!
This was one of my all time favorite series…as was for many others that I know.
So PLEASE do it!
Yes, it would be wonderful to finally watch the ending of these amazing series. Certainly looking forward to it.
Yes, please continue the series. I’m not joking, I teared up when I saw that we might get more. I don’t think a fan base will be a problem, the show has a pretty great cult following.
Yes! Network tv needs more sophisticated dramas like this one
Um, yeah. I haven’t had TV since the end of season two, and when renting season three the other day I found out that it was the end of the road for Hannibal. I was saddened because I felt that this show truly brought the novels to life and into more depth than our own imaginations could ever have accomplished, beautiful execution by a gifted cast. I truly hope it comes back.
