If you were waiting anxiously to find out the identity of the mysterious Magic Man on ABC’s Happy Town, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
Happy Town revolves around a bunch of strange disappearances and murders in a small town. The large cast includes Sam Neill, M.C. Gainey, Geoff Stults, Lauren German, Amy Acker, Steven Weber, Ben Schnetzer, Sarah Gadon, Jay Paulson, and Robert Wisdom.
After a disappointing start in the ratings, Happy Town was pulled off the airwaves for much of May. Before the show could return on June 2nd, ABC officially cancelled the series. Only eight episodes have been filmed but at least answers to some of the TV show’s mysteries will be revealed by the end.
Unfortunately, ABC has pulled the show off the air once again. Happy Town was scheduled to take next Wednesday off but return for June 30th and July 7th with the last installments. The network has decided, likely because Happy Town’s ratings have gotten really bad, to replace them with repeats of Castle.
It’s likely that ABC will get around to airing the last two episodes of Happy Town on a Saturday night sometime this summer. It won’t be soon though. On July 3rd, they’ll burn off the last episodes of the forgotten. On July 10th, the network’s airing the extra two episodes of Eastwick. Could Happy Town return on July 17th? Another mystery that we’ll have to wait to have solved.
What do you think? Are you upset that ABC has pulled the last two episodes of Happy Town? Do you think they’ll ever air?

wow. this was a great show. i cannot believe they killed it so quick. i hope syfy or some other network with a little more integrity will pick it up. between this and incredibly dumb ending to LOST, i don’t think i will ever bother watching abc again. LOST went nowhere. at least happy town died quickly, instead of lingering for years and then not really having an ending. it is like abc gets bored and just stops shows. and the season finale (had to watch on their website) was just plain awesome!!! this is like twin peaks all over… Read more »
I really want to see the end of the show. Its two stinkin hours. Maybe they should go bact to the mini-series stye and do these short shows n a week for 2-3 hours a night.
I too miss Kyle XY and Eastwick.
My family and I are so mad that we have gotten so
in grossed in the show and now it feels that someone
has stole our last dollar. I can’t beleive that they cut
is so early. I agree with the comments not all shows
can have “lost” ratings. I love the mystery but need
closure. My mind needs to know what the blue door means
Maybe it had bad ratings because network tv has a habit of putting something on and then skipping a week or two and then putting it on again and skipping a week again. I liked the show from the very start but then had trouble finding it. Wa son? Was it not on? I finally gave up and then found it on Hulu and was able to finish what I started. I am so tired of the networks doing this. If you are going to start a series, any series, then be consistent! Pick a time and keep it there!… Read more »
I am extremely disappointed in the network deciding to pull Happy Town. I am a busy mother & only watch a few selected programs at night. I was immediately drawn to this show & looked forward to an hour to myself to watch it. I have been searching for it for 3 weeks now & saw the network pulled it for lower ratings. Its sad that that its all about the money & too bad for the “few” people to tuned in!!!!!
I can’t say it was one of the greatest shows, but the network should at least finish off the series so those of us who did watch it have some closure. Seems rather unfair to suck us in and then just drop the show, ratings or not, what was 1 or 2 more weeks going to matter. Will make me think twice about watching series’s on ABC ever again!
I am very disappointed. I enjoyed the show. This is the 5th or 6th show that ABC has done. The network did not market the show enough. How do they expect to attract views without much marketing. I saw the first episode after that I was hooked. Now I am disappointed and irritated
AND ANOTHER THING ABC, CBS, AND THE OTHER NETWORKS…LISTEN UP! WE ARE SICK AND TIRED OF GETTING “A LITTLE BIT OF PROGRAMMING” WITH OUR COMMERCIALS! TOO MANY COMMERICAL! CAN YOU HEAR ME? I’LL SAY IT AGAIN…TOO MANY COMMERCIALS! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
I AGREE. I AM SO TIRED OF REALLY GETTING INTO A GOOD SERIES TO HAVE THE PLUG PULLED AND NOT KNOWING HOW IT ENDS. THIS IS THE REASON I DO NOT WATCH ANYTHING ON THIS NETWORK. I WILL STAY WITH NETWORKS THAT FINISH WHAT THEY START AND SATISFY THEIR VIEWERS.
I am very disappointed that Happy Town has been canceled. I really loved this show. Every time a new show comes on I don’t think it is given a chance before it is taken off. Please I have to know how this ends!
I am VERY disappointed..I do not watch television per se but when I saw the previews on the WEB for HAPPY TOWN I taped it and watched it every Sunday morning and LOVED IT..please show the final 2 episodes soon..it was very different, eccentric and had great characters..
since i live in okinawa, we only have military run channels and most of the shows they have on tv are reality shows. after killing time on the internet i found the first three episodes of happy town and watched them online. i was really excited to see that abc had FINALLY had a decent show that grabbed my attention. but that excitement was short lived because of course like most good shows abc dropped the ball. even though there are only a handful of episodes for happy town, i’m really hoping that another network will pick it up for… Read more »
can ABC finish anything?? would like some closure… good show
I’m with you! These Disney people need to get their TV shows up to snuff with their theme parks. Don’t forget they also cancelled KYLE XY on ABC Family without airing a finale. That was upsetting even to me, never mind my two young kids. Loved the mini series Harper’s Island last year and also felt this was similar and was waiting for the summer to end so I could find out who the Magic Man was. This type of substandard behavior and total lack of professionalism on the part of ABC TV is abysmal.
Now I see why I don’t watch network television often. These greedy networks are all about the all mighty dollar instead of keeping it’s viewers happy. Even though the ratings wasn’t through the roof at least finish what you started. Give some closure. Every show can’t generate “Lost” viewership. You give the show all this hype and drop it. I really don’t understand. It was actually a decent show. I tuned in every week. You suckered me this time but I promise you it won’t happen again.
