Sorry, Greg Grunberg. It turns out that Ali Larter might just be right. It seems that the Heroes wrap-up movie isn’t happening.
As fans know all too well, after NBC cancelled Heroes in May, there was talk about wrapping up the TV show’s storylines as either a movie or a mini-series. Despite the fact that some time had passed, series creator Tim Kring recently indicated he was still optimistic.
He said, “It looks like we’re really going to start talking about it now. The summer months in television are always about preparing for the Fall launch of all the new shows, so I totally understand why there hasn’t been a lot of discussion [until now]. Once the Fall season is launched, I fully believe that this discussion will get reignited in a very big way.”
Now, according to EW sources, NBC isn’t going ahead with the project, at least for the 2010-11 season. However, that may not be the end of the Heroes universe. Kring believes that the show’s broad premise allows for many different stories to be told in many different ways.
What do you think? If not onscreen, how would you like to see Heroes continue — as books, comics, animation, web shorts, or in some other form?

NBC SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Show a cliff-hanger and then cancel the show with NO ENDING???? BOOOOOOOOOOO! Bad form!
I’m devastated! I’d been waiting patiently for its return only to find it wont be coming. Not cool NBC…not cool. : (
yea they can bring it back on sci fi, they dont need all the actors back but theyll come anyway, trust me.
tim kring is greedy he wants to much money from nbc, nbc cant spend all there money on heroes they have alot of other things to do. tim kring wont sell heroes to sci fi or who ever else, he wants to produce or direct for millions and everyone knows he sucks . i find it funny he didnt even invent heroes stan lee did all we want is more peter petrelli
great heroes was a complete let down tim kring is crap never again
all of heroes season 1 was for nothing …… rip peter petrelli
Wow. Outside of NFL football, Heroes was the only show I’ve watched on network television in the past 5 years. I guess it’s my fault for not checking the tweets but I was blown away when I just found out it was cancelled. I don’t know if it’s possible, but I would love for another network to pick up the show. Way to cancel the most original show on your station and replace it with another pair of lousy cop drama (Chase + Undercovers), I’m sure they’ll turn out great…
The TV networks are their own worst enemy. They don’t realize it yet but they are all slowly committing suicide. They cancel great shows that have had all too short runs before they have been given a real chance to prove their mettle. They cancel great long-running shows before most viewers are ready to give them up. The networks will find out soon enough that viewers are unwilling to invest time in any show the networks air because they are sick and tired of having the rug pulled from under them. There are better ways we can all spend our… Read more »
I’m a loyal Heroes Fan, since episode one. I’m devastated…not only are they not renew the show…it doesn’t seem likely that they will be concluding the show. It’s like Firefly all over again…but without Serenity…I just hope NBC pulls their finger out and does something about this…
I am very disappointed that one of the only 4 shows i make sure i watch a week is gone. And this was my favorite. Now everyones copying the idea with new shows that are part x files and part heroes. Sorry…not interested. Over the years the gripes on my favorite show are, dont kill off (forget about) half the cast we want to see, Dont make so few shows and wait an eternity to make the next season. Dont set up a recovery of a season with a cliff hanger and dump on the consumer. I know they made… Read more »
I think they NEED to still consider making a movie. NBC has a problem with cancelling and giving up on good shows and leaving their fans with open ended questions. There are many ways they can take the whole series and wrap it up in a movie that gives everyone closure and appeals to an audience that has never watched the show. First trying to cancel Scrubs without closing it out and now Heroes (Thank God for ABC)!? Does NBC not care about the fans of their few good shows. Watch, they’re going to end Minute to Win 30 seconds… Read more »
What I think, if not onscreen, how about on DVD movie series on the Heroes continue a big come back. It would be fun to watch Heroes again.
I think that sucks too. My boyfriend and I started watching Heros and we thought it was a great show. We can’t believe you could leave your fans like that, you should bring it back for one last showing so your fans wouldn’t be hang.
Yep, thats it for me and NBC. I was proud of them for trying the sci-fi thing.. but alas, they let me down.
Just let it die already
THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!! The powers that be should end the series. I can’t believe they can’t bring it back for say a 2 hr. special episode & end it. I have watched it faithfully since day one. I hate it when they leave u with a season finale cliffhanger & then cancel a show. Heroes was the only show that I watched on NBC, I guess that is it for this channel.
well this just sucks . I hate to even get invested in any new shows every time I do they cancel it I geuss I’ll just stick to my netflix and old shows as least I know what to expect. question why doesn’t scifi chanel pick up the show or does the cast pay roll exceed what they would pay to keep it on the air?
