TV Land has decided to end their signature original sitcom Hot in Cleveland. The current sixth season will be the end for the comedy.
Hot in Cleveland continues to follow the lives of three middle-age ladies from Los Angeles — writer Melanie Moretti (Valerie Bertinelli), beautician Joy Scoggs (Jane Leeves), and actress Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick). When their flight to Paris makes an emergency landing in Cleveland, Ohio, they discover a community that’s less shallow and youth-obsessed. They move there and lease a home with a sassy caretaker, Elka Ostrovsky (Betty White).
The ratings for Hot in Cleveland have come way down over the years. The first season averaged more than three million viewers each week. The fifth season drew about 950,000 viewers and the first few episodes of the current sixth season have averaged 710,000.
Of the decision, TV Land president Larry W. Jones said, “It’s been an honor to work with Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick and the incomparable Betty White as well as our executive producers Suzanne Martin, Todd Milliner, Sean Hayes and the rest of our exceptional writers, production team and crew. The passion and talent they brought to the set each and every week over the past five years has put TV Land on the map as a network dedicated to quality original programming. We will continue to celebrate the show and are looking forward to a fantastic series finale.”
On the positive side, there will be 128 episodes by the end, plenty of episodes to keep Hot in Cleveland airing in syndication for years to come.

That was like a year ago. I miss them too but they did do an ending.
I think it was time for it 2 go. I found it boring and just stupid at times. Quit watching it after 2nd year. But I think they should take the 4 women and put them in something else. Their chemistry together was fantastic. They needed a better script although I think it was a lot better than the stupid reality shows their showing.
I can’t believe that such a funny, entertaining show like “Hot In Cleveland” gets cancelled and stupid, irritating reality shows continue. My thoughts about the whole TV structure is that people can not keep track of when shows are on off and then start up again. Not all shows start in the Fall like they use to so it’s hard to follow especially with all the channels. I missed a lot of the episodes of Hot In Cleveland last season because I didn’t know they had started up again.

Only problem here, is that there IS such a thing as right and wrong. With all of the current sitcoms ignoring this, and being filled with characters obsessed with fornication, and other forbidden activities, I would expect someone like Betty White to have more class and taste than to degrade herself like this.

The TV Network made a huge mistake in cancelling Hot In Cleveland! It still had good ratings and was still fresh and funny! The Network should just admit they made a huge mistake and renew the show for at least two more seasons! The ratings will go sky high if the show goes back on the air. That way everyone is happy emotionally and financially! Please reconsider this decision to cancel the show.

I’m very sorry that the series has been cancelled. I looked forward to it every week. I can tell you why the ratings dropped. They dropped because no one knew when the new seasons were starting. Not enough advertising about season starts. Why don’t seasons still start in mid September and end in early May, as they used to do? At least then, we knew when to start expecting new seasons.
I so enjoyed hot in Cleveland. Being single and 50 ish. It just was a fun show. And Betty white. I’m gonna miss the show. Bring it back
Best comedy on television. Watched every episode and will miss not having this show on TV Land. I mean, Soul Man is still on? Really? That tells so much about the taste of viewers.
I wish they had not cancelled this show. It has such a good cast and it was so much fun to watch!
We finally found Hot in Cleveland and it is the only show that makes me and my wife laugh at least as much, if not more than The Big Bang does. I am so sorry that it has been cancelled. Any show that can make me laugh (even when watching alone) is a very funny show. Just ask a Dr. if laughter is good for you or if you should watch a reality show.

im so sorry that Hot in Cleveland has come to an end,a lot of people may not watch the serie but i`ve never saw a tv show that i could relate to,the adventure the looking for the right guy the faillures the mistakes and the friendship and special the fun,this is the best tv show about woman that was ever made,and i know what im talking about because other tv shows about woman make me bored,but not this one,i fell good about myself every time i see an epsode,i love u guys and thanks for the amazing work and make… Read more »
Why doesn’t the TV network say that they made a mistake and renew Hot in Cleveland for another season. Or maybe even two, up to an eighth season. I know that once the network has made up their mind they usually don’t change it. But I think the ratings will burst out of the gate just like in the beginning! Please give this some thougt!!
