Ray Drecker may be very popular with the ladies but HBO doesn’t want a fourth season of his TV series. The pay-for-view channel has cancelled Hung after 30 episodes and three seasons on the air.
Hung stars Thomas Jane as a struggling Detroit high school baseball coach and divorced father. He resorts to male prostitution to take advantage of his natural “endowments.” The show’s cast includes Jane Adams, Anne Heche, Eddie Jemison, Rebecca Creskoff, Gregg Henry, Charlie Saxton, and Sianoa Smit-McPhee.
This past season, Hung averaged a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.02 million viewers. That’s way down from last season (1.3 in the demo with 2.46 million), which had declined from the 2009 numbers.
The defacto series finale of Hung aired on December 4th and attracted just a 0.4 rating and 930,000 viewers.
HBO has also cancelled Bored to Death and How to Make It in America but has chosen to renew Enlightened, the newest and lowest-rated of the four.

am admittedly very late to the party having just binged the last hours of 2022 into 2023, but see now that it will not be renewed but it was a great concept and had interesting believable characters. why anymore do series get cut after 2-3 seasons? and with the passing of Anne Hesche, Jessica would need recast but the show, subtle though it may be, worked as set in the early 2000s? but to cancel prematurely this viewers wondering whether the cockroach Lenore survived being shot by Sandee, whether Ray and Tonya sold the $40k in cattle for a profit,… Read more »

Please finish this series. Ray is adorable and love the characters. Left us with big cliff hangers. Come on!!!!! Finish it. Be fair to the viewers

Damn, left some big loose ends. Sandee shooting Lenore n Ray n Tanya stealing the cattle trying to save the business. Sucks to not get to see it resolved

I just lost my beloved 10 yr old Goldendoodle yesterday. We crawled into bed and binged watched all 3 seas0ns of Hung in 24 hours. It was a funny and wonderful escape. I was so disappointed to learn it had been cancelled and not just moved to another network. It was a double kick in the gut.

And I’m bummed that Hung is canceled all together.. some other network should’ve picked it up! I enjoyed this show!
I was looking forward to each new episode and enjoyed the story lines of all the characters. HBO had a great great show on their hands and should have done more to promote it. Dearly sorry to see it go.
I was enjoying Hung very much. I laughed out loud a lot! It is healthy to see sexuality expressed so casually on TV. Hung was unabashed and I appreciated it very much. I fear HBO has a loss but ratings are what they are. My opinion matters not at all if other viewers didn’t watch. That said, I SO WISH IT WOULD HAVE ANOTHER SEASON.
Starting this past weekend, I started binge watching the series, Hung. The characters are diverse, complicated and interesting. I was pleasantly surprised how good the show really is and disappointed only three seasons aired. It’s worth bringing the show back on air….

Why did you canceled the show?the good tv series you take off..and leave the booring and bad ones…if you don t make good publiciti with a tv serie…it wil not wooork…….Please do the 4 th season…it was a great tv show…or at least…make the last episode..becouse we deserve it…i m not only fan of hat tv series..i watched it…my boyfriend watched it…my all family watched it….
