It’s being reported by Dateline that USA Network has renewed their original drama, In Plain Sight, for two more seasons.
The new deal will take the cable show through its fifth season and the main cast, including Mary McCormack, Frederick Weller and Paul Ben-Victor, are all set to return.
Seasons one and two were comprised of 12 and 15 installments respectively. Year three was supposed to have 16 episodes but was cut short to 13. The early wrap reportedly happened because showrunner and executive producer John McNamara had to take a leave of absence for medical reasons.
It’s unknown at this point how many episodes USA has ordered for seasons four and five or, if the show will wrap its run after that. An official announcement has not been released.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear In Plain Sight is coming back for not one but two more seasons? Should it end after that or continue to season six?

I LOVE ‘In Plain Sight’. I was worried when I didn’t see it for quite some time. And when NBC came along with its version, I thought for sure ‘In Plain Sight’ was not in plain sight for its’ fans. So glad it’s coming back – the writing is really good; the story lines are compelling and the acting is so worth watching. Keep it up.
In Plain Sight is one of the most interesting shows on TV… USA seems to currently have all the best writers and I hope they keep it up.
Love this show! Happy for the 2 seasons but would love to see it really extended. Maybe season 25….
YES, MOST DEFINITELY LEAVE IT ON THE AIR. IT IS ONE OF THE BETTER ACTION/DRAMA/POLICE TYPE SHOWS THAT KEEP MY ATTENTION INSTEAD OF USING THEM AS A BACKGROUND NOISE(NEW AGE RADIO). carol m kinney
Definitely renew “In Plain Sight;” it’s invigorating ; character development is to be congratulated! Please start filming now!!
For once we have a “cut to the chase”, strong policewoman who is so nicely balanced with her “Marshall”. Can’t wait to see what happens next! No more whining by her Mom, please!
Love this show. Glad to hear that it is being renewed.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE !!!!!!!!!! KEEP IT ON !!!!!!!!!!
My husband & I both Love this show.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE KEEP IT ON !!!!!!!!!!
LOVE this show and so very glad that we have another two season’s and hoping for even more. I’ve been trying to find out when it’s going to start again. Any experts out there know?
I was looking up In Plain Sight to see when it was going to start again and to my astonishment I saw one place where they said it was canceled. I was about to cry when I found another place where they said it was to be renewed for 2 more years. OMG!!!! I was ecstatic!!!! I just love Mary and Marshall. Mary has my secret personality! She is just great! Marshall and her make such a great team. I so look forward to each week! I am so glad they are coming back.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW,…..IT’S BETTER THEN ALL THE OTHER CRAP OUT THERE
I read in 2010 that the series would return yet USA has not shown any information on the status of a new season. I have quit watching USA because all the new shows are action, cutsy and lack any real character development or intriquing story line. What is with USA network and why has this quality show not returned? I speak for others who have also discussed this with me.
My husband and I really enjoy “In Plain Sight”. We definitely want it to come back. We love her interaction with family, work place, and the problems she has with her job out of the office.
I am so glad to hear that the show is coming back. I would love it stay on for more than two seasons. The show has creative writing and excellent characters. This show is one of the best shows on TV.
OMG…they can NOT cancel this show!!!!!!!!
Finally they come up with a decent show with fun characters and great dialogue, only to have it face cancelation?
I LOVE this show. Mary is my hero. The way she approaches life is so…Mary.
I have awaited the return of this show for far too long. I am going through with drawls. Bring “In Plain Sight” back and keep it running for many more seasons.
Please, please, please do NOT cancel this show.
