Josh Holloway enjoyed a long run on Lost but unfortunately he hasn’t been as lucky with Intelligence. The CBS TV show has now been cancelled after one season of 13 episodes.
On Intelligence, Gabriel Vaughn (Holloway) is a high-tech intelligence operative who’s been enhanced with a super-computer microchip in his brain. It allows him to be connected directly into the global information grid. Other castmembers include Marg Helgenberger, Meghan Ory, Michael Rady, John Billingsley, P. J. Byrne, Tomas Arana, Lance Reddick, and Peter Coyote.
After the failure of Hostages, the network was hoping for Intelligence to be a ratings hit to fill their Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It wasn’t to be. Despite some impressive star talent and special effects, the show couldn’t draw enough viewers.
The network debuted it after NCIS on a Tuesday night and the show drew decent numbers but, once it moved to its regular Monday night slot, the ratings tanked. The season of 13 episodes averaged a 1.3 demo rating with 6.85 million viewer, making it one of the lowest-rated shows on the network.
That wasn’t good enough to mandate a second season renewal so Intelligence has been cancelled. The final episode aired on March 31st.
What do you think? Did you like this Josh Holloway series? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?
Wow! I’m really surprised this was cancelled and my husband and I were looking forward to season 2. Bad move CBS!
So sorry it was cancelled. I liked the show and I like Josh Holloway and enjoyed him having a show. I hope he gets another show soon.
I’m surprised the show was cancelled. I thought it was a hit. Both me and my wife liked to watch the show because it contains high technology, a kicking good climax and very interesting episodes. It also comes on the heels of a lot of military publicity. Too bad… Another poor decision on the part of CBS.

Very much surprise this show is cancelled.
I personally was starting to get into the show myself. I really hate that there’s not going to be a season two. I feal like you should have at least given the show a chance. Some ppl don’t find out about shows as soon as they come out because I didn’t. The season was almost over when I started watching so I went on ondemand to catch up. I have done this with several shows that I watch.
That is a shame, this was a show that was really starting to develop. One that whole family could watch. Sad, very sad.
I have research each episode several times it was my favorite program last season
My husband thinks, and I am starting to agree with him, that it doesn’t matter how good a TV show is, what a following it has or how good the writing and/or actors are, but it is all about the money. If the demographics aren’t what they want and they aren’t pulling in the big advertising, then cancel the show. It doesn’t matter if it is a good and decent show and people like it. I have looked at the numbers for some of these shows and they are pulling in more viewers than others, but are being cancelled anyhow.… Read more »
Can’t believe they cancelled intelligence. I really liked this show.
First of all I want to start saying I LOVE INTELLIGENCE, but I’m really not that amazed with the decision, (from here on there would be SPOILER, so *SPOILERS ALERT*) I mean, really?! at 2nd chapter the series drama was resolved!!! It really bothered me, we had all this drama around Gabriel’s wife and she being the reason he became the experiment and like pooff… it’s done, don’t worry about her anymore, although it is thanks to Meghan Ory and Josh Holloway i loved them together since minute one, for me CBS didn’t even try to save the series, I… Read more »
We liked the show a lot. There are so few shows that the whole family can watch with out worrying about language or violence or sleezy content. We are very disappointed that the show is cancelled. If it didn’t do good in the new time slot, then put it back in the other one!
honestly… im not surprised. i have been watching back to back episodes of season 1. i am up to episode 11.. and i must say.. the storyline is way to predictable, nearly every episode- i have predicted who the crook is, and how the episode ends. Maybe i watch too much television, but the fact remains.. it is too predictable. The idea of the show is a good premise, but i feel the writers have not written to the potential of the plot. Parts of the storyline is dripping with cheese, where other parts are so obvious, you know how… Read more »
This is network TVs big mistake… So many people don’t want to invest hours getting into a series in the first year when there is a chance of such a cancellation… I thought this series was awesome and gave it a chance, unfortunately they did just what I feared and pulled the plug. So again I am committed to only watch shows that are two years old and going strong, then I won’t feel that I wasted so much time and interest on just 6-13 episodes, never to think of those characters and story lines again. I did that with… Read more »
